They are for making home brews. You wont needs them just for using amps and things like that. The amps are air tight, when you open them the air blows out and no glass gets in.

yea i only use them for homebrew stuff, i've used hundreds of amps over the years and never drew with a filter and have had no problems

I have had glass in an amp ...but I don't use filters for them ....I don't use amps often
