test cyp in one step
"You can buy prohormone esters like 4-androstenediol-cypionate and get test cyp in one step."
This was posted by a well respected member. Please, if you have the time, can you write out the process/steps in making the above concoction? Thanks Ken |

I believe that was posted by me. This is a MnO2 oxidation. MnO2 selectively reacts with allylic alcohols over saturated ones. The 3-OH of 4-AD is allylic.
You need activated MnO2, either dichloromethane or chloroform as solvent, and some automated way to stirr or shake the solution. Mix 1 gram 4-AD cyp enough solvent to dissolve it to get a clear solution. Add 5 grams MnO2, stopper, and stir or shake vigerously for 24 hours. Filter out the insoluble MnO2 and evaporate your solvent and you have test cyp. The MnO2 is very fine and can be difficult to filter away. I would vacuum filter through a pad of celite. Dichloromethane is a more convenient choice for solvent than chloroform IMO since the latter must be washed with water and dried over MgSO4 before use to remove ethanol and traces of HCl. Commercial MnO2 is not usually as active as freshly prepared MnO2. But, if your MnO2 is not active enough, the worst that will happen is you may have a little 4-AD cyp left in your test cyp; no big deal. Last edited by spidey : 12-20-04 at 04:05 PM. |
