IGF-1 and Nolva

I thought I read a post about two weeks ago that nolvadex blocks IGF receptors. Is this true? I have a friend that is wanting to run it between cycles with his pct. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?

So I'm currently running just test E at 600mgs per week and I have been considering using IGF 1 what would you recommend that I use in place of the nolva?

Rocket, I am going to assume that clomid also blocks the receptors?

do you have problems with gyno? if not why keep the estro away? besides estro increases androgen receptors. i use proviron at 50mgs ED. proviron is a very mild antiaromatse(sp?) witch means it dosent let your steroids turn to estro. but very lightly nothing like a-dex. sorry about my spelling and lack of technical words.

I don't think that it blocks the receptors guys, if recolection serves at the worst nolvadex reduces the amount of IGF your liver produces. Let me see if I can find those articles

I did find an article in AR 2005 that had a study about tamoxifem/nolva. They found that nolva does have a "suppresive effect" on IGF-1 levels.

I beleave skyfire is correct. I do know that they are used together for pct all the time. I would like to .

KingJ M1t should never have caused gyno. you received M1t with methyl test in it. That sucks. Methly test aromatizes more than most tests. You may not be prown to gyno letrozole should be your best friend.

steroids.com many years ago said that the use of nolva while on GH would supress gains due to the nolva binding and blockin the recptors. (that was just from memory not word for word)
anabolics 2005 have it in my hands right now says "tamoxifen on IGF-1 levels, demonstrating it to have a suppressive effect.
now by that study sayin it suppresses natural IGF-1 is enough for me to not take it. now your addin in a outside product that probably dosnt even work and addin to it by using nolva.(the part about IGF-1 suplementing not workin is just my opinion)

I know some guys that have taken it and they were satisfied with the results. I personally have never taken it so I can't tell you one way or the other. I am definitely interested in what you think of it when you try it. I was thinking about trying it this summer.

So if I were to run nolva when I'm taking the IGF what would happen.. am I not going to see any results? or does this just have effects on natural IGF?

According to Anabolics 2005 it will hinder your results. To quote. "When tamoxifen was given, GH and IGF-1 levels were notably suppressed" It goes on to say that IGF-1 levels are elevated when Testosterone was given while Nandrolone did not show the same characteristics. From reading this article it leads you to believe that it is estrogen that is responsible for the increase and decrease in GH and IGF levels. This also leads you to believe that any anti-estrogen will hinder the results you would get from GH and IGF. Now it does not say anything about binding to the GH and IGF receptors. Regardless it obviously will hurt your results so I would use only if necessary.

easy there bro, nolvadex does reduce the level but I am pretty sure that it had to do the nolvadex effect on the liver, it is an estrogen related issue I believe. I have not had a chance to look for it but there is a pretty good artical on this subject, some have even claimed that the suppressiong of the release of IGF (the liver converts other things into it if i remmber right) is what caused the lack of gains with nolvadex (that isn't likely, it more to do with the suppression of estrogen). Let me look around and find some better info.

There is a big differnace between "demonstrating it to have a suppressive effect" and binding to the IGF receptor with the latter meaning that IGF should not be ran with nolvadex. Keeping the liver from releasing or converting IGF is a trade off with the drug. nothing, nothing is for free in this world. But it has long been known that nolvadex can reduce your gains somewhat. this is IMO a small price to pay for not getting bitch tits. But if you think about it why would nolvadex bind to the IGF sites when the IGF does not bind to the estrogen sites?

As for IGF not working well it has been shipping for a couple of years now (longer to a select few). If it was really just snake oil don't you think people would have noticed by now? It may not work for some, better for some then others and so on. As for studies there are several but there on mice, its just too new for there to be any humen studies or even studies done on higher test subjects. But there are too many happy customers to say that it doesn't work altogather.

I was not debating wether it blocks the receptor or not. I was just stating that anabolics 2005 did not mention it. I was just quoting the article. Regardless if it binds to the receptor or not the article makes you believe that it has a significant suppressive effect , for whatever reason, on GH and IGF-1 levels. That is a enough to not make me want to mix the two together if at all possible.

i agree 100% i might have worded it wrong or something but the bottom line is i agree its not worth takin the chance. i know 2 people that i trust with what ever they say and they both have tryed IGF-1 a few time and both came back with i felt bloated thats it. even bouncer said it did nothing for him i dont know him but he dosnt seam like the bullshit kinda guy he sayes thing straight up. so thats 3 people i trust.
