going hypo from insulin, my experiences...
I've used humalog many times in the past, and never had any signs of going hypo. A few weeks ago I started a different approach; post workout shooting humalog, then 2 hours later, just as the peak starts to drop, I hit it again only with humalin r this time. Its worked great as I'm making awesome gains, but I've had two episodes where I could feel myself going hypo.
Both times were many hours after the shot, right around the time I was due to eat again (I've been eating every 1 1/2 hours) The signs were shakiness, i started sweating and felt very flushed, and the onset was pretty quick Both times I followed the same approach, hit some quick sugar, usually chocolate, then downed most of a can of pepsi, and both times I felt fine 5 minutes later, and hit up my next meal. I think as long as you are aware of the signs, and what to do when you feel them, then its not that big a deal. Thats why I posted this, for anyone using slin, if you feel anything remotely close to that, make sure you get some simple carbs right away |

Great advice needsize.
Some guys carry around dextrose tabs just to be on the safe side. Knowledge is power. However you have to apply the knowledge given... Insulin requires some forethought and planning if you are going to use it. Always be prepared. |

I'm hypo and I don't even use slin. I have to always eat every couple of hours to keep the blood sugar in check. I guess that could be a good thing to maintain muscle mass. Be sure and have some foods close by cause the hypo feeling can be real bad. Great post!!!

I've been slowly upping doses (only up to 10iu each of humalog and humalin r), so I've been waiting for sides, with lots of food handy,. so that wsnt a problem. The key is that as soon as I noticed sides, I hit the simple sugars, and felt fine 5 minutes later

I didn't get a full run at insulin before my motorcycle crash but I carried around sugar cubes with me and never had a problem. There 4gms each cube so it's easy to count your carbs also for right after the dose....good post....
