I recieved a general mailing today from the Catholic Church on Gay Marriage. It has made me so angry that I responded with this letter. It is the first step I am making in support in what I believe to re the right thing

Today I received a circular In my mail regarding (Marriage in Massachusetts Crisis & Challenge) My wife and I are deeply offended by the Catholic Churches stand on this issue. I have never involved myself in the matters of how others live there lives , I do now feel motivated to lend my support to a great cause. I have found that members of the Gay community have been some of the most caring & giving people I have ever been fortunate to know. I can not comprehend why a community that claims to speak the word of God would support segregation and hatred of an entire portion of are community. At what point does God hate people for loving one another & what justification is there for blocking people that Love each other & wish to enter into a life long commitment. How dare you insult my inelegance by telling me that God would ever be against any group for loving each other. What kind of a Pagan God do you worship that would condemn a sole for expressing Love to one another. This stand sickens me. I will be in contact with my senator on this issue through the recourses you have given me hear this day. I am in full support of Gay Marriage, Gay Adoption, & family value. Family value is based on how we live are lives and how we raise are children and has little to do with race or sexual orientation. With all the evil and wrong doing that goes on in this world I can not understand why the Catholic Church would pursue attacking a group that just wants the right to Express the Love & Devotion to each other and to have the legal protection of marriage that the rest of us take for granted. Today I pick up the torch and lend my support to the right of my fellow man to do what's good and decent in this world and to discredit you and your false God that support hatred against its fellow man. I live a clean life with my wife and are children, I pay my taxes and my bills on time, I share my home with my 4 legged friends that God has put on this world, I have taught my children to respect all people and critter we meet in this life. The Catholic Church needs to clean its own house before it will ever gain any respect from me on any level. History has recorded the Catholic Church as the most successful Crime Organization the world has ever known and I spit on you for everything you stand for. The Church has a very long road to travel before it can atone for all the evil it is responsible for.

I was raised Catholic but as an adult I don't believe in their ways and oppinions.

With so much evil and hatred in this world, I don't understand how they can condem a couple for their love when it only makes this world a better place.

This is the letter I sent to the govener although I don't realy believe it will ever be seen it is better than doing nothing. Thank you Mrs P and Cory. It must be my age I think. I have never realy believed that 1 person can make a difference but if you never stand up and be counted I can be sure I will not

Dear Mitt Romney,
With all do respect and support, I have received a circular from the Catholic Church today regarding Gay marriage, I understand your view on this subject and respect your right to feel the way you do. My wife and I are very much in support of Gay Marriage in Massachusetts. I am writing you this letter because I wish to stand up and be counted as being in support of this law. It is simply the right thing to do. I am just a small voice in a big crowd and I don't know if it will matter but it is a voice none the less. I am 41 years old and have been married to my wife for 18 of are 20 years together. I have never written or contacted a government official in my life. I only recently started voting in the last few years as I didn’t think my voice really mattered to anyone. I am sure that this email will never reach your eyes but it is something I feel strongly about. The time has come for people to move on with there bigotry against the Gay population in this community and the country. I am proud to be from Massachusetts and proud to speak with a Boston accent. I would be very proud if Massachusetts was a leader in support and adoption of Gay Marriages.

On another note Mr Romney,
I commend you & your teem on doing a fine job with the state affairs as I was sure you would. I know it is difficult to make unpopular choices to do a job that is thankless at best. The cuts are deep and hurt us all but the alternative is far worse . You and your teem are doing a great job. I think some times we all need to know that are work is appreciated even as unpopular as it may appear. Its not rocket science to understand you can not spend more than you make. I will vote for you again even if I don’t meet with you the same on all issues.

I sent this to my senator. I have gotten a little cought up in my feelings on the subject.

Dear senator Kennedy.
My Name is Charles -------------. I am writing you this letter in response to a general mailing I got today from the Massachusetts Catholic Conference regarding Gay Marriage. I can only hope you would have the time to hear my voice but I fear it will be lost in the electronic limbo of cyber space. I have never written any government official in my life but I feel very strongly about this subject. I am 41 years old and have been married to my wife 18 of 20 years together. I am very proud to be from Massachusetts and pleased with you and your teem as my representative. On that note I want to stand up and be counted as being in full support of gay Marriage in Massachusetts . Marriage, Adoption, and all the rights extended to myself and every other Married couple in the United States. I do not consider marriage a religious issue at all but a legal issue. I am not anti religious but I have a big problem with religion interfering with the affairs of government. I think the time has come were we need to dispose of this bigotry against the Gay community and allow them the right and protection of marriage the rest of us take for granted. Massachusetts has the opportunity to join in leading the way to what is right and just in this world and to set an example for the rest of the country. Please let Massachusetts be one of the steps forward in progress to equal rights for all humanity and begin on the path of making sexual orientation as unimportant as the color of my car.
