2005 Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage

Joining the flagship Vanquish and the DB7 line, the AMV8 Vantage will be a two-seat sports car with a front mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout surrounded by a hand-built aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and body. The AMV8 Vantage will be powered by a state-of-the-art all-aluminum V8 specifically designed for the Vantage.

The engine will be positioned ahead of the driver, but well back in the chassis. Combined with a rear-mounted 6-speed manual transaxle, the AMV8 Vantage achieves a nearly perfect 50/50 weight balance.

The interior is all Aston Martin, with much of the styling for the switches and instruments derived from exclusive watches and premium audio gear. The interior makes extensive use of leather and anodized aluminum, and the AMV8 Vantage concept includes a full complement of custom-fitted luggage.

Built on an all-new platform, the AMV8 will be built in a new facility located in Gaydon, England.

I will take the lambo gallero (sp?) that thing destrictifies every other car on the road with speed, handling etc. . .smokes the porches and ferraris like nothing. . .saw it on Top Gear a very cool car show here in the UK. . .also has a wicked interior and the outside is sleek. . .

Damn. To me that is one of the most beautiful cars I have seen. I have looked very closely to some of the other AM's that I have seen outside of bars and clubs here in town, but that is far nicer in my opinion. I like the combination of sports car and luxary that some of these companies are putting together now.

vipers are very fast, there is no doubt about that. but as far as a nice ride and overall how its built, its a piece of shit. if you just wanna drag down the street for short distances thats fine.

I once admired the Viper, but then I grew out of the phase and came to look down upon most modern Daimler Chrysler(sp?) vehicles.

I'm not saying they're bad vehicles by any means, but the engineering is not all that great, the prices are too high, the replacement parts are a joke, and the performance parts are even more expensive. I also dislike the new viper's look. I liked the previous one much more. With all this said, these are only my opinions, so you Mopar guys out there, don't get your panties all bunched up. Just my opinion coming from a mechanic, engineering, and consumer stand point.

I'd find my money better spent on this car above for $130,000 or whatever it was compared to an $85,000 Viper.

The same goes for a $52,000 Z06 and an $85,000 GTS, I feel the bang for the buck is much better for the vette.
