open a beer bottle without a bottle opener

How do you open a beer bottle without a bottle opener? I've seen people do it using a lighter but I don't know how.

Grip your hand tightly just under the cap. With using your index finger as a lever brace put the bottom of the lighter under the cap. Push down kind of in a crowbar fashion ( to scale) You have to do it pretty hard.

you could actually do it with another bottle too, just to ooo and ahhh the people around you. it's the same as with a lighter but becareful not to open the upside down bottle. i've seen my friend do it and i've done it a couple times but i'm not that good at it. especially when i'm drunk.

i use my teeth occaisonllytoo but unliek doom i ahve ruined a teeth by that otherwis ei jsut bas it with top of my ahnd wit top on sumtin wih an edge such as dresser or table

I use to use a lighter back in the days when I smoked!!! Now I just press the cap to my forearm and twist it off!!!

Try it like in the movie Overboard, put the cap at an angle on a hard surface, like a table or countertop, hit the bottle downward. Be careful if it's a soft wood, the cap will dig in.

After I saw that I tried when I lived with my parents and tore a small chunk out of the table. Not cool with the folks. Another time I slipped and ended up banging the hell out of my hand on the edge of the table. Guess that's why they say, don't try this at home!! When it works, it very cool!

I've used a key off my key chain before...works kinda like a bottle opener...only you have to try a few times to get it to work....

Dunno about the whole teeth thing to open it though...I have too many bad dreams about loosing my teeth LOL

the lighter technique works best, cause i've always got a lighter...the teeth method would just hurt...

I use a ring to pop it off. I scoop the underside of the ring under the lip of the cap and use my finger as a lever. Works great and you don't have to worry about losing your lighter when someone at a bar steals it.
