Computer guys

Hey guys check this out. Now this is whats happening. I got Norton Antivirus 2004. The problem is that the computer keeps on stalling and a screen appears when that happens saying "websearch" has caused an error. What is "websearch", is it a program that comes with the computer or is it those ads things that pop in an automatically install in ur computer. I got quicktime also which i hate and cannot remove. Whata think of this. Its bothering me to the point where i feel like just kicking a hole on my pc. Within this year, ive taken it to my friend to fix about 3 times already, just sucks. Btw, the computer is a COMPAQ PRESARIO 5000. Sucks balls too

go to control panels -> add / remove programs -> in here look for anything like "websearch" .. also while you're in there you can remove quicktime it will be on the list of installed programs. Let me know if websearch isn't in there.

sounds like u got some pop-up thing........u might wanna download ad-aware & spybot search & destroy & use em both every week or two. About the quicktime thing you should just be able to delete that from your program files

These are the other crazy programs causeing trouble but cannot remove.
1) web savings from ebates
2) webrebates
3) blubster support (dont have it no more)
4) web search

I put delete and they are still there. About quick time, its not listed there but when i turn on the computer its still there. Damn Compaq comps suck.

spybot s&s is good, or lavasoft adaware. Even those programs don't always get everything. If you're still having problems after those. Start windows in safe mode, then goto START > RUN > type "msconfig" > click "startup" tab, and then uncheck anything you KNOW you don't need. Then reboot the computer, and immediately run your anti-spyware program again and it should get it this time through. If it still doesn't get it, go through your folders, find the names of the spyware you couldn't erase and delete them manually. If the folders cannot be deleted even them, restart the computer into safe mode and erase them.
