We bought are son a new pickup

This is the last truck I buy for this kid, It is the 1st New one though. I made a sweet deal on it because I have bought quite a few trucks off this dealer. I paid cash for it because there is no deal if you finance it not to mention my truck is just a year old. This is a 2004 Chevy Colorado Z71 package. The odd thing is it has a in line 5 cylinder engine. It is certainly peppy enough. These trucks are replacing the S10 series, it is about the size of a Dakota. I just think it is a cool looking truck.

Yeah, the new inline 5 cyclinder is a 3.5liter I think. It has about 240hp and runs pretty good. I am still not adjusted to the new truck's prices though. $24-26k seems like alot to dump into a mid size truck. You can almost buy a full size truck for that price.

Hey you should have gotten with me before you bought him that truck. Thats a 2004 its new it may have problems. I have a 1994 Dodge Ram that has 10 years of proven reliability.

I am sure I have mentioned him before B, He is my step son and he is almost 30 years old. This is the last thing I can do for him to help him on his way in the big nasty world. We all know how tough life can be an I wish someone could have helped me out from time to time. I know that working hard for everything you have makes you appreciate it more but then I think you only live once. I can afford to do it so why not help him out. If he tears it up it is his loss but If I thought he would do that I would not have done that for him.

Scary isn't it, You know there is no difference in the price of a full size to a mid size truck these days. They cost exactly the same. 26 grand is the low side most of them start at 32 grand and if you want anything nice you have to start at 36 grand for a pickup full or mid. My full size Z71 was 36 grand almost 2 years ago an it is far from the top of the line.

I was a runaway at 15 and have never been home since and I have just started speaking to my dad 5 years ago. I am in my 40s now. I have never been given anything and don't want anything either. I am a self made man and now I can do what was never done for me. I would have just been happy if my family just liked me a little bit but we don't need to go down that road. My wifes son has some issues that make things a little harder for him than most people. I will do just about anything a can for him, I have raised him a my own since he was 9. I never wanted any children of my own so he is my only child. He has been on his own for 10 years now but he has fallen on some tough times so I'm just, you know, helping a little.

You are a very kind man. But just don't let your kindness get in the way of letting your son grow though. I know you are giving him things you never had, but you turned out to be a good person because of not getting much. Think about that for a second.
