Question Anyone have family serving in Iraq?

My oldest son is in the Army,on his second tour of duty in Iraq. With all the news lately about shortages of supplies, and the evasive answers given by the leaders of the military,I get kind of pissed off. Now,I am very proud of my son for serving his country, but I feel like he's been kind of dumped there without the goods or support to do the job.Maybe it's just because it's the holidays, and I miss him.I just wish we'd give them what they need to get the job done and get out of there. Thanks for the shoulder

not family but... one of my best friend's growing up is over there now as a fireman. I think he has about 6 months left to go unless they extend his tour.

Your son will be in my thoughts and prayers as well. Hang in there through the holidays.
I have a couple of friends who have recently come back, and said that things were better than they had expected- I hope that is true for your son as well.

Hope everything goes well for you during the holidays. A very close friend of mine just got back from Iraq a month or so ago and has been opening up and talking about some things the past few days. From what we know so far he heads back to San Diego New Years eve and gets ready to head back for his second tour as a Combat Engineer, Demolitions.

No real family, but my mother's best freind's son is there. We kind of grew up together. He's a few years younger than me and I am why he joined the Marines. He's been there since the start and has only been once for about a month. He's a great kid and has volenteered to stay over ther twice now.
He told me he doesn't want to come homw till they all get to come home.
I also have A LOT of friends from the Marines that are still in and are over there. I get emails from them every now and then when they get a chance to have some down time neer a comand post.
My wife's girlfriend is over there too.

I think about them all, all the time and hope for the best for everyone over there.

anyone who is over there I hope for a safe return fast. Too much life lost so far with no end in sight and little gained.
