Anyone ever order anything from Amazon.com?

I ordered a book for my mother for christmas on the 3rd of december for 2 day delivery. It wasn't on back order or anything. I just checked my account and it still hasn't been sent and it's the 23rd. I've sent multiple emails to them without a response. I'm starting to think I should just cancel and run out to get her something else. Anyone have anything like this happen with Amazon before?

I've ordered from them sometimes they are slow, even the items supposedly were in stock.

They suck sometimes.

Good luck, you will get your stuff though.

Yeah I guess I'll run out and get a safety present or something.

It's only lgical that this time of year they are going to be busy, just like every other store in the world. Next time, perhaps you will order a little eariler. I thought this as just common sense considering every is ordering stuff.

I totally understand that it's Christmas, but I did pay for 2 day delivery on December 2nd. And it does say anything after the 10th may not make it in time. And it's the 23rd. So that's why I'm worried about it. Oh well I think I may just cancel it and run to lunch and grab her something to be on the safe side.

Yep, I ordered like 5 books from them this year. Four of them arrived in one box and the other one was delayed. But it finally got here with a note inside the book explaining why it was delayed.

This is true, but to be honest thats no excuse. If they can't get the stuff to him on time, they should at least tell him, or be available on email. I have bought stuff this christmas online and much much later than december 2nd, and received it within a few days. Most good companies will say that after a certain date they cannot guarantee xmas delivery, hence everything ordered before that should arrive by xmas. Very surprised by amazon, I always held them as one of the most reliable companies......

It's not really Amazon who is responsible for the delay. It's the person or business using their services to sell items via the internet. They just allow people to list things for sale and collect a service fee for the use of their site. There are rules and regulations that must be followed once something is sold and the buyer's account has been credited for the sale. The seller is required to ship within 2 business days. So, it is the seller's fault that there is a delay and their asses need to get on the ball. I had this problem once and had to cancel my order and leave bad feedback on that seller. Feedback is what can make or break a seller and they need to stay in good standing or no one will ever buy from them. Keep bugging them with e-mails and if they don't repond, request a refund and leave bad feedback. They should know better.

But, am I right in thinking amazon also sell stuff themselves on their website but at the same time allow third parties to use the site? If that was the case, best thing to do is jus make sure you are buying direct from amazon and not a third party....

I have ordered multiple items from them, never a problem. Are they starting a e-bay thing or something? They did buy out another site if I remember right, maybe you were dealing with them. Good luck and Merry Christmas.
