Umbelical Hernia
Noticed the belly button is coming out a little bit. Went to doctor for physical and he said it isn't anything I should worry about right now and he doesnt feel surgery is appropriate at this time. So I went to hernia surgeon and he said kind of same thing that it doesn't need to be tended to immediately but in the future will have to when it gets worse. I'm trying to decide whether to go under the knife right now, when I really don't need to. Or should I wait till it gets worse and it needs to be removed? I'm confused on what to do. Obviously I don't want to be out of the gym for 2 f**ing months.

that sounds scary bro. For me its a tough one, getting it done now or in the future when it gets worst. But if its gonna get worst might as well get it over with and fixed. As for being out of the gym for 2 months bro, dont worry about it, its best.

I have the same thing, and my doc told me the same thing. I have been putting off surgery too. Knowing me I won't do it till it ruptures. I just play w/ it a lot. I push it back in and rearrange it. The funny thing is that it does not hurt at all, it just feels weird.

Well, if you can foresee that holding it off will jus make the outcome worse and the remedy more drastic, then go and get it done now. Don't put a price on your health! So what if you lose some gym time....

It doesnt hurt either. I don't know what to do gotta see if I still am going to have insurance in January. If not I will just put it off till next year or whenever I get a new job that will cover.
Besides, my brother just had it done, his still bothers him and it was 2 months ago. And I talked with a buddy of mine and he had it done a few years ago. He told me not to do it, its fucking worse now. Getting a lot of mixed reviews. |

Ya me too. If it was really affecting me negativly i would do something. My doc said that it's only gonna get worse, but I am not in any danger. It's just weird. So I am gonna wait till whenever?

Heavy, heavy squatting and super heavy deadlifts are what pushes it out and can aggravate it

Wow, I pictured a belly button kind of hanging out like on a cord, lol. Does wearing a weightlifting belt reduce the chances of that happening?

I dunno, but wearing a belt when I lift helps it cause it keeps pressure on it.

i'm pretty sure deads and squats are what caused it. Deadlifting 500lbs doesn't exactly help your body. I think I'm going to stay away from heavy deads from now on.
