question about relationships for you all
How important is your significant others fitness lifestyle to you? Is it only a big deal for you if it affects how he/she looks ? (example if somebody naturally has high metabolism so overweight is not a concern) or do you feel that training is something that you need to be able to share with your significant other?

Well I like it that she works out and takes care of herself but I would love her just the same if she wasnt into training.

for me i would love it if my girl would start working out again. I love her dearly and it wont change my love towards her at all, but it would be a "+ plus+ is she were to work out and take care of herself. Cause think about this in the long run it affects people. I got family members who never took care of themselves and now thier paying for it, high blood pressure, some not being able to eat foods that they once ate cause of diabetic, things like that.

I'd rather my woman take care of herself but if not I really don't have a problem with it

My girlfriend plays basketball in college. I have been more attracted to those who have some conciousness of fitness. I like the idea that she exercises. That way I don't always have to here the "I'm fat, I need to loose weight, blah blah blah" all the time. Granted she is pregnant now so it's a little different

My girl quit going to the gym after she found out she was prego. I wish she would go back to help get her body back in shape, but I realize that she would rather spend that time with our son. I have told her though that if she starts plumping up I was gonna get her another membership and attendance would be mandatory.

but, being healthy and fit is just such an important aspect of life that I'd worry about my significant other's health and I would want to enjoy being healthy too....... there's just too many benefits to living a healthy lifestyle as far as the looks go........... genetics pretty much govern how the other will look so I guess you just hope for the best!!!! LOL LOL

Totally contradicting the fact that SHE just brought the subject up that she wasn't happy with the way she looks, but doesn't want to do anything about it. She's not even fat....135 lbs. 5'7" wearing a size 6, and a nice 36c. I think she's super hot for jsut giving birth 6 months ago, but she just needs to tighten things up a bit. She has agreed to follow my diet and work out regimine for vacation in August, but hopefully she'll stick with it after that. As far as me feeling any different towards her if she did or didn't workout. She's went to the gym maybe 10 times in the 3 years we've been together, and I love her whether she works out or not. I do however think she needs to shut her mouth about me being obsessed about just because she doesn't think it's important.

It is important in any relationship that the lifestyles of both individuals coexist in a supportive manner. Training only gets better when you have the option of doing it with your partner, and it's good motivation. The fitness lifestyle of my gf is very important to me, I want those I love to love themselves,, right?. If they start losing control, I'm going to state my concerns and be by her side if needs be......but if she just doesnt want it, than I'll cut her loose. It's not a big deal to me if it affects the way she looks (of course thats circumstantial, way to much cardio=way too skinny....no good/looks wise) My focus is on the benefits of the overall lifestyle she gains from it. It would be great to, like I said, have the option of training together, but it's not something I would let get to me if not....Then I'd be training for something other than my own health/wellness. |

i'm a firm believer that someone has to take care of themselves before they can take care of others. I don't mean that they have to work out daily and make it their passion, but i prefer a g/friend that at least is health-aware, and who would know what to do if/when they felt they were letting things go, rather than just complain about it.
