Ok guys, I know this is one of the few games that you can actually have an advantage over the house. I have been watching some shows and read a little bit about the key rules and tips to gain the advantage. My question is this, can anyone let me know which are the best books to pick up about mastering black jack.

I plan on going to Vegas next year and I want to do some damage.

Card counting isn't so easy anymore. They shuffle way before you get to the end of the pile. I learned by watching. I don't know any specific books, but there is a little card out there that you can pull out at the table that tells you what to do depending on what you have and what the dealer has. In Vegas they have them at all the stores, but locally you could probably pick one up at a drug store.

counting cards would be the ticket if you could get it down. you would have to play at a single deck manual shuffle table which are mainly downtown.

as far as books go, they are a dime a dozen. the key element to each book is exactly what Timma said, the old "what do i do with this hand?" cheat sheet.

it is basic. but it gives you the best odds of winning. the card is below. Also i would suggest downloading a free blackjack game software and just playing it a ton. the more you play, the better you get. this is a good one:

I've found Poker to be the best way to walk away from the casino with more money that I came with on a regular basis. The casinos I go to have a lot of drunk and uneducated poker players that give away the strength of their hands so blatantly they might as well flip their cards over. I can make a couple hundred dollars on any given trip to the casino--much better odds, IMO than blackjack.

As for the poker thing BB, never play poker in Vegas. The locals eat the tourists alive. I lost most of my money at the poker tables. Your best odds in Vegas is blackjack.

Bouncer, that is not the whole card that Tinfish posted, but you probably know that.

Hell, no! I know my place. I only play poker at the small, out-of-the-way casinos with people that started playing when poker go popular on TV-you know, the guys that their poker history goes all the way back to Chris Moneymaker!

i was just watching breaking vegas and this team got so good that they not only swapped decks, they swapped whole 6 deck boots!! each boot was worth about $70,000-$110,000 to the cheats who knew all the cards.

yep, it was a time period between 1966-1975. they made millions..

they also had a dealer working with the team.

Bring cash and leave your bank card at home!

Single decks are much easier to play with, especially for a novice. Practice a lot at home before you go.
