a sad day
just as i was gettin ready to leave for college this mornin to right my final physics exam, my mom calls me to inform me that my grandma passed away last night (fuck it hurts just to type this).
3 months ago i attended my grandpa's funeral. they were together for over 60 years, and apart for only 3 months. i was extremely, my whole family was, close to them....so they will be greatly missed. this is the most i allowed myself to think about this, as i have not talked to anybody about it.....just the kinda person i am i guess...keep my feelings to myself...deal with it myself. i just figured there are a lot of good and honest people on this board, and it might help to put some words down for the grieving process. ahhhh shit Metallica's "to live is to die" just came on...well that sure dosn't friggen help. but i guess my grandpa isn't alone anymore in the heavens and has his wife with him now at his side RIP Irene and Charlie now i'm gonna go cut my friggen grass

Sorry to hear that. With in 3 months, she probably died of heartache as some call it. I'm sure she is much happier now to be back with her husband.

Sorry to hear this buddy. My heart goes out for you, my man. Keep your head up and just know that they lived a very happy fulfilled life and had each other for all those wonderful years. Now they are together for eternity.

My grandfather is fight cancer right now. The treatment is beating him up and I am not sure how much longer he can take it. He was a perfectly healthy 86 year old who was still working until I got the cancer, so you can see how we are all very upset. We expected a quick death when he went. Guess he was too strong for something quick. We used to say "Well God sure isn't going to kill him, he is going to have to do it himself". We used to say that because he did things that normal 86 year old men should not have been doing.
Anyway, I guess I am being selfish in your thread. Sorry about that. Hope you are able to work out your feelings. Never hold things in. It's ok to be a grown man and cry or give in to some feelings. |

I feel for ya bro! I'm in the process of losing my mother now; she has been fighting lung cancer for two years and she has never touched tobacco. Look at this way...
Death is only another part of life; not the end. The pain we feel is for ourselves because we will miss them being in our every day lives. There is no reason to feel bad for the lost one; they are going to a better place than here. WM |

My condolences go out to you and your family bro. My grandfather passed away last October and it really sucked...but you can always instead of grieving, you can celebrate his life.

I lost my grandparents when I was really young but I grew close to Stromba's and when they passed in recent years it was really hard but, knowing how happy they would be being together again somehow made it easier.
Best wishes to you and your family. They will live on as long as their memories live on. During the holidays, don't be afraid to mention them, it will bring back many good memories to everyone. (Sorry I banned ya for a bit, just lookin out for the board but I made a mistake.)

Grandma would always be up at 4am, gettin supper ready.......damn she was such a busy body and her food was like nothin else in this world. after a few drinks Grandpa would whip out the saxophone and just play away, while my uncles would strum the acoustic guitars. good times they surely will never be forgotton though, we have a large family on my moms side (parents sre divorced) and we are very close. here's a funny story that was told during my grandpa's eulogy. it was the worst storm in recent history, it just snuck up on us during the day, rain, hail, high speed winds. my grandpa gets a craving for walawala onions, so whats he do.........he gets his oldest son John to drive to the grocery store to get some...he was the only one shoppin that day, probally in the entire city....lol. he came back to the house, and looked like a drowned rat, but at least he had my grandpas walawala onions. it feels good to talk about this thanks guys

They haven't left you bro, they just went home. It sounds to me like you were very passionate about them and I know it must hurt so much, just gotta keep telling yourself that they aren't really gone, their just in another place waiting to see you again some day. It's great that you were so close to them, 3 of my 4 grandparents passed before I was old enough to walk. You and your grandparents will be in my prayers.
