It looks sweet, but the new body style also looks like the Hyundai Tiburon, IMO!

Mitsubishi/Eagle Talons and Eclipse had a problem with the intakes cracking. Im not sure I they have fixed it butI know they did. My sister had one and the intake cracked under normal conditions. My freind owns a junk yard and did a national search for an intake all were cracked or already bought. We pulled it out and welded it. Good looking car though.

Very funny....I am not a big fan of the new Eclipses. Yeah, the engine puts out nice hp (260hp), but I am not a fan of its looks. I own a '94 300ZX and absolutely love it. There are really no sports cars out there that I like unless you want to shell out some major bucks.

I just really want to get rid of my SUV. I'm not looking for anything high in performance. Just want to lease something for less than i'm paying now, which would be anything. I like the look of the new Eclipse, and if anything happened to it, it will all be covered under warranty. Just waiting till I can afford my BMW.

Get a mustang or a charger dude. You'll be much happier.

I agree with Bouncer, look for a nice used one (make sure they have records!!!). Best thing to do is if you find a car, go to a forum that talks about them to get more info on what problems they may have. I do like the M3 or M5.

I own (actually it owns me) a 95 Junkstang Cobra and I have not stopped fixing it since day one...fkn piece of shit. I had a 97 WS6 Firebird, fast as hell...fixed it all the time. Go foreign...(as much as I hate to say it)...they make better cars.

I've had great luck with my 93 stang, never breaks down. Can't say the same about my 66 stang though. Gotta agree though on the ws6. I owned a 00 ws6 and had nothing but problems. First the alternator, then the slave cylinder on the clutch, then the transmission. I don't know how to work on foreign cars so I just can't bring myself to get one.

I did check that out a little while back and they were still pricey. I refuse to buy american cars ever again. I was driving home last night and I felt something hit my foot. I pick it up and it was a locknut probably from when they had to replace the steering column bearings.

Excellent body style, but shitty car all together. I have an eclipse and they are bad about oil leaks bro. Speedracer59 was correct about the intake problem; I've already had mine repalced and I still have several oil leaks. Not worth it in the long run IMO. I would rather buy a used BMW or even Honda due to reliability.

I have been very fortunate. I (well my wife is the primary owner) of the 01 Eclipse that we have. The car has been great with no major problems (knock on wood). It has 89K miles on it.

I recommend not ever test driving an M3 or an M5....unless you can afford it! Once you drive one, you won't be satisfied with anything else. The only semi-affordable thing I've driven that was similar was a sporty, souped (sp?) up version of a 330. I just traded in a sports car last night on an SUV--the change in acceleration and handling blows, but I needed the towing and carrying capacity.

I'm a little biased I guess because I know how to work on them. Ease of getting parts and modifications. I wouldn't know where to start with a european car. That shit breaks down and it'll have to go the dealership where i'll probably get raped with charges. Plus I don't think those guys give out the computer codes so that you can see why the check engine light is on. Could just be a faulty sensor, but no, you have to go to the dealership so they can keep your car for a day and charge you up the ass just to check it. But like i've said, i've gotten great service out of my 93 stang. 133k miles and still going like a champ.
