Well today I'm driving and all of a sudden there's this huge sound like a gun going off......I look in my rear view mirror and I see that my back window is completely shattered and the only thing holding it together is my tint....

I look in my side mirror and I see this old man riding a lawn mower on the side of the road close to rocks....I turned around and went meet him and showed him what happened. He wanted to give me the number to his lawyer and I was like "what the fuck, you think you didn't do it?" To shorten the story I eventually got his insurance info and also called the police so they could get a report. Well I bring my car straight to the window replacing place to get it fixed and the quote is around $900 (I have a newer sports car hatchback rear window).

Well I get a call from the guy who was on the lawn mower later and he tells me to file it on my insurance because he won't file it on his because he talked to his lawyer and his lawyer told him there's no way I could prove that it was his lawnmower that did it.....He told me he would pay my deductible though.

FUCK THAT!!! He told me if he'd claim it on his insurance his would go up $700 a month because he already has made two claims on it. He said if I take him to court I'd lose so I shouldn't go that route.....I wanted to jump through the phone and choke him to death. This fucker broke my window but doesn't want to take responsibility so he's trying to get out of it.

To top it off this guy is very wealthy. I called the Sheriff in my parish and he told me that I should take him to small claims court because I would win....

My diet already has me very edgy right now and for this shit to happen REALLY REALLY pisses me off. I can't believe this fucker is trying to do this. Makes me want to just pay for the window myself and go and slash all of his tires.........Just thought I'd rant a little.....boy boy boy, some people!!!

Some people need a good ass whipping....Go give him one..Then you can still take him to small claims..Not sure where you are but simple assault fine is only $475 here.

fuck thats crazy. I'd go nuts with something like that happening to me. It fucking sucks how the fucking laws work, saying you didnt have evidence it was him. Its obvious what those things can do, ive moved lawns before and seen shit fly when i mow. My friends truck drivers window got broken once due to some dude mowing his lawn. I say beat the shit out of the dude

take him to court anyway. You'll win he is calling your bluff hoping you won't bother. He admitted his guilt by offering to pay the deductable. after I won in court I would have a hard time not smashing out his back window just to add another claim to his insurence

i've been in a court when similar cases have happened, and all that has to be proven is that it is more likely that it occurred due to his actions than because of some other way. since he was the only one mowing his lawn, there weren't other people mowing their lawns or throwing rocks, your car happened to be moving alongside him, the judge will EASILY rule in your favor.
he was hoping to bluff you out of taking it to court, and i say you call his bluff. i don't care if he has johnnie cochran in there, there's no other MORE likely explanation, and he'll have to pay. simple as that.
then you can wait a few months and slash his tires just for fun...

but if u were to take the bastard to court, wouldnt it come out the same. As in paying the lawyer, paying a court fee, stuff like that. Its hard.

Turned it over to my insurance company, they will be suing his insurance company if they try to not pay.

I always get pissed when I see someone mowing close to the street with the shoot facing the street. I don't get it. It's common sense and thinking of other's safety. You could shoot a rock and kill someone. If it's impossible for you to mow that way, which I have no idea why you wound't be able to, atleast watch and stop when cars pass.

Yea, put it in a super soaker and you don't have to get closer than 4-5 feet and no one will pay more than a seconds attention to you.

on the rescue squads i saw a nasty "drunk-mowing" accident, and had a friend whose father died when his carotid artery was nicked by a flying piece of debris. its still a fucking dangerous piece of equipment...

BTW, i really like the paint-removal gel idea, have fun w/ it!
