man i will smack the shit out of those little 120lb mullet sporting nascar shirt wearing tools. we dont really have that in Raleigh though. Raleigh is pretty much a buisness area with all new stores, roads etc.

Bouncer - also being a "Tony Soprano" type I understand. Find some guys that you identify with. See if there is an italian american club, do something to reconnect.

After being in Fla 16 years, almost all the friends that my brother and I have made down here are Italian guys from New York or Jersey. We did not seek them out, it's just who we had the most in common with.

True, appearances can be deceiving. Charlotte looked all prim and propper on the surface but low and behold, they have a huge BDSM culture that's kept pretty quiet to the general public. You never know what goes on behind closed doors.

Dude I was born and raised in NC. At 17 I joined the Army. Did my 20 years and retired. I to got home sick in the beginning. I've been to Oklahoma, Georgia, Germany, Holland, New Jersey, Hawaii to name a few. I currently live in Goergia and don't miss a thing about NC. What did I do. Well like the old saying goes, "When in Rome do like the Romans". I even learned to speak both German and a little Dutch. So my best advice is to get out and meet people, make some buds and quit being what we called a Barracks Rat. Your buds will help you get through anything. There's strenght in numbers. Good Luck! Being far away from the place you are used to is a terrible thing. I had to overcome not only a new place, new people, but a new language and new customs as well. Maybe you should try to find a place, or a small something that reminds you about your home-state. Maybe spending some time there would help. When I get homesick, I try to remember that I am here for a better future, I find Shibby and cry on his shoulder. Then, all of a sudden, it is all better. But of course, I am not going to share him
