In regards to the Supreme Court nominee, I am ready to pack my bags and go to Canada. God forbid Bush replace Sandra Day O'conner w/ another woman.

Roberts had been in line to join the appeals court in 1992, but his nomination during the first Bush administration died in a Democratic-controlled Senate. He has generally avoided weighing in on disputed social issues. Abortion rights groups, however, have maintained that he tried during his days as a lawyer in the first Bush administration to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Agreed.... I was very disappointed with this - 2/9 was bad enough but Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the only one now.

They started talking all around here about how he's from where I live. So i'm like ok that's cool. Then they said he moved to Indiana in the second grade. I'm like wtf? Why such the fuss? All that happened was he was born here. Then they state he wanted to overturn roe vs. wade. I feel ashamed that they are even mentioning that he's from around here. The guys an ass wipe.

Redsquirrel, Sorry you hate it but atleast he appointed a strong conservative. Also, I know this is a sexist remark. But i'd rather have all men in there than women because women tend to vote and make decsions based heart instead of logic.

Bush also didn't nominate an african american nor hispanic, ect. Hell if it is anyone other than a white man someone is going to be bitching. But I bet if he did nominate a black female that would make everyone happy huh? lol

B, make sure and clean any fruit or veggie you get from Canada REAL good. I was up there a couple of years ago during the summer and whatever they sprayed on the fruit and veggies for fertilizer smelled like pure shit. You could smell it from miles away.

With all due respect, this is an outrageous assertion. I'd like to see examples where either O'Connor or Ginsburg did what you imply. They have proven over many years that they are jurists of the highest order and to suggest otherwise in such a cavalier manner is really uncalled for.

If Roberts is confirmed, there will be 1 woman and 1 minority on the court. I think Bush missed an opportunity to improve this situation or at least maintain the status quo. I know he had several women on his shortlist but for whatever reason he made the choice that he did.

I personally don't think that the abortion issue will ever be over turned. I believe that they could add limitations to it (ie: partial birth abortions)

seeing that I've been pregnant 2 times, if you can't make up your mind before the 7th month whether or not to have an abortion - something is definately wrong! I'm sure that if anyone ressearched that, there is probably so few abortions performed that late anyway here in the US!

Not one of those links says anything about the Canadian Government actually harboring terrorist. Hell we have terrorist in this country training somewhere. Does that mean the US allows them to do so??

DG- the Supreme Court recently agreed to hear a case that said partial birth abortions are constitutional if they endanger the mother's health. With the new appointment- this could be overturned. It's not about making up your mind, because I don't agree w/ partial abortions if there is no threat to the mother.

Now, let's say you have a 3rd child, and in the 6th or 7th month, your doc tells you if you deliver the child there's a 90% chance you won't survive. Well, you can't have a partial birth abortion now, so you go ahead and roll the dice and see if you live.

It amazes me that Republicans are pro-life, yet support the death penatly. If someone could explain that one to me, I'd love to hear it.
