So when they call it the real orange county, there just saying it more as the tv show OC is making it seem more hearful and lauguna beach is showing how snobish it all really is?

i think they call it a reality show

i think they do follow regular kids around and tape it, none of those kids have been in any other shows or movies, and this latest show where the two that dated and broke up last year met back up...the awkward silence and the facial expressions just brought back memories of my breakups, seemed very real, so that's my reasoning for believing this show is for real and not scripted, or not entirely scripted

This is my take on the show...I used to think that it was a straight reality show but after watching the first season I now believe that it is all scripted. The people in the show are really from Laguna Beach and were friends in real life but their relationships and the things that happen to them are completely scripted by the genius that is MTV's marketing lol. Actually I think that Laguna beach is the first kind of show of this kind, where it has a reality "feel" to it but the cameras used are very movie-esce. Coincidentally, HBO has a show that came out a little after Laguna Beach called Unscripted which doesn't have as hot of women but is a far better show in terms of plot, character development, etc... The actors in this show play themselves but their actions are scripted (eg. Laguna) Perhaps you've heard of one of the actors, Krista Allen , who is most famous for her work in the soft-core pornographies, Emmanuelle 2 through 7 and Emmanuelle In Space lol. Somehow, Unbeknownst to me, all of these movies were filmed in 1994. Seems amazing that a person could film 7 movies in one year, even if they are low-budget softcore porns.
