jesus christ get off bush...how was he to predict there would be a natural disaster when deciding to send our troops oversea's?

I believe i heard 90% of new orleans is out of electricity, there is no source of communication, no telephones are working not to mention as you can see from the picture, the water is flooding everything........There isn't a plane the size of the superdome to ship all those people to texas

its really lame to bash bush over EVERYTHING that happens...i'm sure he and the rest of the entire country are doing everything they can to help

The medical personell who were boating themselves in to help these people had to turn around because they were having their boats turned over, people wanted to take their boats instead of letting them get in and help the sick.

I'm sorry but I'm really loosing compassion for many of these people.

I saw an interview with a woman who was taken out of the dome and when they asked her if she'd received food and drink she had the NERVE to complain that it was army food and crackers, that she hadn't received a HOT meal in a few days. WTF???? She's lucky she got any food at all. Why didn't she get her ass out and evacuate when there was pleanty of time to do so. Even if these people had to walk, they could have evacuated, then the only people left there would be sick and elderly people who we'd be able to rescue without having our hellicopters shot at.

New Orleans had the highest death rate in the country and now I see why. A bunch of fuckin animals live there. Actually, animals behave better than this, they at least take care of their own. It seems these people left in N.O. are just out for themselves and it's really ruining it for the ones who truly need help.

It's a disgrace that we have to send in our own military just to keep peace and get these people in order so we can evacuate them.

WTF goes on in their heads?

If we can't get the sick out first, they will die and continue to breed disease.

Oh, and the latest disturbing thing I just heard on the news is that some of the women in the dome have been raped. INSANE.

Now what's gonna happen? Once we get these people out, where will they go? They will spread their chaos to other cities who try to help them but they will just turn those areas into slums too.

The lack of morality in these people infuriates me. Get off your ass, go to work and earn a living like a normal person, stop relying on the government to take care of your lazy, drug addicted, alcoholic, and gang member asses.

There was also an instance where this family had looted probably every store in sight, and then they stole some big truck, idk whether it was a beer truck or what...but they packed this truck full of stuff that they had stolen, and it wasn't just food and clothes, it was filled with jewelry and i'm sure stuff they could head to houston and pawn......the national guard stopped them, and on tv the woman driving her family off tells the camera she doesn't know anything about any jewelry

i guess she doesn't know how all that shit got in this stolen truck that she was driving neither....or maybe someone threw her and her family into this stolen truck against her will and taped her foot to the gas pedal



and another story, a doctor who was just interviewd on fox news as i type this said he tried to go into the superdome to TREAT people, and basically a riot occured, one of the military people or officers that escorted him inside got shot in the league...and the doctor basically said fuck that, im not going inside anymore, he doesn't wanna get shot

rapes are truely the worst crime though, looting is shitty, stealing from people is horrible but these guys who are raping people need to have their cocks chopped.....and the most graphic of torture needs to go down, this is where that no "Cruel & Unusual Punishment" for criminals needs to be done away with

Sorry sweety but I don't think the city is going to be able to recover from this. While we see the idiots on T.V. looting trying to be cool during the day, there are people that roam at night that keep these fuckers indoors.

We are the richest and most powerful country in the world and we seem to have no trouble getting a marine expeditionary force ready to ship out to any corner of the globe with 24 hours of notice, yet we can't seem to get organized stateside even after 3+ days. It is a bloody disgrace.

Having had that same information, why did these people not evacuate? I'm not talking about the elderly or invalid, but I'm talking about all the others. Why did they not prepare for the hurricane by having water and food if they were going to stay? Thousands of people remained in their appartment buildings and I only heard one old woman say that she had saved some water. Most of the people who went to the dome went there empty handed expecting someone else to take care of them, the least they could have done was to bring some drinking water and a jar of peanutbutter to help them survive for a week or so. Instead they complain about the poor quality of the Army food they got which they had to eat cold. What a bunch of bullshit.

Living in FL we're taught at the beginning of the hurricane season to be prepared. We have hurricane survival kits and we have escape routs planned out. We pay attention to the news and when it says for certain areas to evacuate or prepare most of us do.

The day before the storm hit the front page of the newspaper in N.O. was insisting the people leave town. They said it was gonna be bad. Knowing the geography of the area how could anything less have been expected with such a strong storm? Again, I understand the elderly and sick not being able to leave, but anyone in half decent health could have walked out of town.

Help has been difficult to get in there and when it does arrive they are attacked.

Now thousands of our troops must be sent in just to restore order! These people shouldn't have become violent but apparently this is their nature as this city was #1 for murder before this storm ever hit. We now have to waste our time, money, and probably many lives combatting our own people when in reality those people should be helping to get the others out.

There's no reason we should have to have night patrols. We are supposedly a civalized society, but apparently this is not the case in N.O. and I'm sure in many other areas.

The people who don't have jobs (which is nearly everyone who lived in N.O. and stayed) who were saved from the city should be the ones made to help clean up and fix things so the city which remains at least doesn't continue to polute and breed disease in the area, this can simply be done by a "work for food" program. You want food, we will give you work so you can have food, now here's a shovel, now get to work. This has worked in other countries where the people are more than happy to have an opportunity to work so they can provide food for their families. But how much would you like to bet that if these people are offered a chance to earn their money by doing something decent and productive, they will turn it down. They will instead start life in new cities living the same way they did before, increasing crime in the new areas, meanwhile our taxes/gov't aid will have to go towards the recovery of the city.

Do you have even the slightest clue what it takes to coordinate the necessary relief efforts? Why not blame the citizens of the states surrounding Louisiana? They're better able to provide immediate relief than our government is. Why don't you fly your scrumhalf down there and have a look for yourself. Katrina was a gentle breath of fresh air compared to the tsunamis that hit the coast of Asia in December. 140,000 people lost their lives. We can't even begin to imagine those conditions.
