Dog Pneumonia

Heard on news today there is pneumonia going around. There were actually 4 dogs that died from this is southern CA. The bad thing is they were all at the same vet I take my dogs too. Of course vet did not tell me that, heard it on news.

Will post pic soon have a new bull mastiff pup - "BEAR" 7 months old weighed in at vet this week, 101lbs.

Keep an eye out on your pups.

I was just stating that the same thing happened to your dog. Very possible this epidemic is much more than just southern cali. And why just bull mastiffs? Very odd.

This is the definition of irony, Stix did you post this because you knew what happened or was it just coincidence?

I did read Bouncers thread, this was not meant to be anything more than to let people know that there is something going around. It is not mastiffs in general. I took my pup to the vet earlier this week. Then today I see on the news in L.A. there is something going around and the vet that i took my dog to had 4 dogs die there from this illness. There was no mention to me of this when I took my dog in, if there was I would have probably not taken him there.

I have 3 dogs and would not make a stupid comment about someones pup passing away. I also have 3 kids who would be devastated if something happend to their pets. We have 3 dogs, 2 rats and many fish.

***Yes, there is something going around, i heard that it really effects the young pups and the older dogs.... My wife told me about it after i told her about Bouncer's pup.... Come on guys chill out a little, no one here tried to offend Bouncer or his situation, at ease...

that shit got me worried now cause i got 3 german shepards, which 2 look sick. The oldest female is 12yrs and the guy is about 7, which both all of a sudden havent been eating.

Did a little search on the net to read about that dog flu, came across this. Its not that recent about a week old.

About 2 months ago my friend's great dane came down with it too. For the first 2 weeks they didn't know what it was but he'd been on antibiotics for a week and seemed better, then a week later he was near death. They got him on IV antibiotics and found it was phneumonia and continued treatment for another week or so...then oral anti-b's for a month following. He's fine now but it was touch and go for a while. Keep an eye on your dogs...being informed is your best defense.
