They were saying earlier that it should make landfall by early next week, but are hoping the cooler air in the Gulf will weaken it or make it disapate.

Tropical Storm Wilma stalled over the warm waters of the northwestern Caribbean early Tuesday. However, the storm is expected to begin to move it toward the Gulf of Mexico by Friday as a Category 3 storm.

Yes that say it is a tightly wrapped storm no other really like it. they Hurricane winds only go out about 15-20 miles from the eye
the only good thing i see about it is that It is a fast moving storm so it shouldn't last long when or whereever it hits

It is now the strongest hurricane ever recorded with a pressure of 882mb and sustained winds of 175mph.

It has the perfect combonation of things happening for it right now (very weak upper level winds and extremely warm water). I don't think it will stay this strong for long, but one thing people need to think about is that a storm this size usually over powers any fronts that may try to steer it in a different direction. A perfect example of that is katrina and rita. Personally I think the entire gulf coast should keep an eye out.
