Car Shopping

I have been car shopping for the last couple months and I think I have decided on one. It’s the BMW 330ci. I was never a big BMW fan until I saw this one. I mean I do like the M3’s but they are just a tad bit expensive. It gets excellent reviews too. Any of you own one?? Would like to hear some personal feedback.

Nice car. Just dont test drive an M3 because you will feel like the 330ci has about 2 horse power. The pick up is good with a 330ci. An m3 is like a rocket.

IMO, that is definitely the affordable alternative to the M3. I haven't driven this years but the little things they do to make it drive better-stiffer suspension, seats that hold you in place, really good traction control, rear wheel drive, really low-profile tires-make it super fun to drive. Gotta agree with B though, the M3 or M5 make it feel like childs play!

Wait a second--that's not a automatic transmission in those pics is it? There's no way I'd get that car without a manual transmission. Does the car in those pics have the sport package??
Make sure you check out the optional performance options cause they make a big diff in the way the car performs and rides.

Never liked BMW's; they seem more of a status symbol. "....Oh you have a Beemer?..."

You just earned more "Me 2" points.....Nice care, but not my style.....M3's are nice, but can't compare to an NSX-T...

The prices don't compare either--that's like saying a Passat doesn't compare to a G35.

Since you're not factoring in price, then we can say that the nsx-t doesn't compare to the carrera gt2 either.

Well, the carrera gt2 is no F430! We could do this all day if price isn't a factor.

Huh? The carrera gt2 owns the F430. We could, but then we're hijacking chadd's thread. For the price of a 330i, i'd rather have an STI.

That is not the exact car I am looking at. I was but found one a lot closer to me. The one I am looking at has the sport/premium package and I like the wheels a lot better too. But yes, I am looking at an automatic. It is a tiptronic automatic. I don’t think I could ever go back to a manual. Too much work.

Believe me I'm not buying the car so I can say, "I'm driving a Beemer". I just like the looks of the car.

I think the bmw coupes look better than the mercedes coupes that's for sure.

I believe the 330i is around $38k. All the mercedes stuff cost way more than that unfortunately.

Mercedes are sweet but too expensive for me! I don't care for most of the 300 series but I really like the 330ci. I don't care for the Audi A4's at all. Just to plain looking. I like the look of the TT but it is a little to small for me.

I've never been a big fan of Mercedes. I know they're changing now but they used to be just a rich man's car, while the BMW was always a drivers car, imo. There are some nice mercedes now, but dollar for dollar I'd take a bmw over a mercedes anyday.

Does it have the ZHP package? If so, its as close to getting an M3 as you can get. If you look around you can find a used E46 M3 for low to mid $30K. I don't know what your planning on spending, but for the most part BMW's are really reliable. If you like the car, don't drive an M3. If you do, it will be hard to settle for anything less. I own two bimmers an E36 M3/4 and a 318i, love them to death. If your a big MOFO you might wanna look into a 540i, for the money that you would spend on the 330i new you can find a hella nice 540. Goodluck, LT

I'm sure that's the case, not what I meant.

NSX's are pricey, very. But I own my TSX and I went to Rick Case Acura here in Miami and they praised my car at 21K(mint condition) if I were to trade my in for an nsx.

This would be my car payment;

Vehicle Price $ 89K
Down Payment $ 21K
Trade-In Value $ same as above
Interest Rate % 3.98 with Bank of America
Term (Months) 72

Monthly Payment $ 1063.25

I make good money, but fuck that. If were making 90K I would get it for sure. I'm about 20K short of it right now and I enjoy not making any car payments. I also want to buy a house(high rise condo) here in Miami and those are not cheap.

Everything downn here is nothing but highrises. That's what my apartments are, living on the 27th floor, awesome view though.

If you're willing to pay that much why don't you get a 05 ZO6 which would be about $25,000 cheaper, or even a Viper. Unless you're getting it just cuz it's rare I could kinda understand that, but damn 90k for that.
