friends

Okay, it has begun bugging me that I have no friends. I have some acquaintances, who I do stuff with sometimes, but not anyone I'd really feel comfortable just kicking around with or anything. I don't have many social interests, usually on weekends I just hang around my place doing jack all (reading, going on the computer, lifting, things like that). Any ideas on how I can meet people with common interests...guy or girl...just to have some friends? No this is not a joke

well not to be obvious but you need to leave the house first...seriously I have been there and done that. friendships are definetly something you need to put effort into...I am married now so I am not allowed to have friends

its cliched but try the library and some liberal arts stuff, concerts and meetings. meeting people in bars or clubs just aint the place.

I'm with SC, I have a family now and enjoy my time with them. I get my time to myself when I go to the gym and kind of when I go to work. I honestly don't have time for anything else is part of it. But I also don't feel like dealing with people who just want to go party and hook up. Maybe next summer when my schedule will change and I will have more time I might hang out with someone to watch games and stuff. I know getting out of the house is the trouble you are having and you don't know where to go. If you want to go to an older crowd sports bar you might meet some buddies there.

You have to put in time to have friends bro. It takes effort and time commitment. You may meet people by accident, but you won't spend time with them or find common interests without trying at it. You want friends, go make them.

Coffee shops and book stores are great places to meet laid back people.

You can also join a church, many have a lot of things going on besides just their weekly Sunday services.

Get a dog and get out with it. You'll wind up talking to people. Take the dog to the dog park where you'll meet other dog owners or take it to obedience school.

Get a job as a vollunteer for an organization that interests you. Most places are thankful for even 2 hrs. a week so it wouldn't be very time consuming.

you shouldnt look for friends you should just end up making them thats my opinion..otherwise youll probably end up choosing the wrong ones anyway.if you go to school thats the most ideal situation IMO.

volunteer, join a team (my rugby team is my second family now), take a course at a community college in something you're interested in, start a new (social) hobby...
