So I'm driving to Boca Raton this morning

And as most states have on the interstate, they have an HOV lane :hmmm: Well here in Miami, if you're caught in it with just yourself driving and the trooper catches you, you're getting a ticket :thumbsdow

Well needless to say I'm driving in it(like always, bending the rules)and I pass a trooper. He decided to pull me over almost a mile down the road; you can see where this is going(Mind you, my whole windshield is tinted, you can't see in my SUV).

So I pull over and he approaches the vehicle. I open up my window and he said; "Son, you know why I pulled you over?" I replied; "No kid, I have no clue" :laughnew: He gives me this WTF kind of look(the "kid" remark).

Well he goes to explain why and I said; "Oh really?" But you can't see in my vehicle mind you, not even if you were to press your face on my windows can you see in there.

Now I know this is illegal(the windshield tinted)but I don't give a shitI like it that way, always have had my vehicles like this. Anyways, I start to debate with the old fucker(but in a nice way)and he comes to realize he was making an assumption when he "thought" I was by myself and yet you can not see anyone(because of the tint)in my vehicle.

Well after the debate, I walked away with a warning(for the tint)because he knew if I would of taken this to court(which I would have), he would of been fucked.

He also got pissed since I never told him I had a pistol in my car, but he never asked. He found out later when he pulled my record and noticed I had a permit. :dancingne

I would of had a ticket for the tint as oppose for the HOV violation. But either way I walked with a warning

Listen fucker; I do respect the law. But do you ever fucking speed Don't fucking tell me about respecting the law. I deal with them ED of my life; hence my job...So STFU and do not ever say that when I have a great deal of respect for them.

Yes Rado, I'm sorry, you are right I have exceeded the speed limit so it makes the way you treat other people alright. None of us are perfect but by respect I mean not only the rules that are set forth but more importantly the people who spend their day enforcing those rules so that you and I can have a safer place to live. He was an assho;e because he deals with people like you every day and he probably figured it wasnt worth the hassle of giving you a ticket. Then theres the fact that you have no respect for anyone else out on the road. The way I see it, driving in a lane that you arent allowed to drive in to get past the traffic while everyone else goes slower is a little different from me going 70 in a 65 because thats how fast everyone else is going. And by the way, yes we have a commuter lane or "HOV", andI have never driven in it when not allowed.

I sat and thought about this and it isnt really that big of a deal except you act like you are better than everyone and maybe you dont even know it.

The biggets problem over here is stationary fixed speed cameras, the gov state it helps cut down speeding, like fuck it does, everyone just slows down for the cameras, then speeds up again, in fact they distract you from the road. If you get zapped, you get 3 points on your licence and a fine, 12 of thos and you loose your licence, which could mean your job etc etc. Its ridiculous and its just a big money making scam for gov't

people have started sabotaging the cameras and just getting someone else to say they were driving at the time, the cops don't car, so long as they get the money.

The point I was trying to make was that he pulled me over because he thought(or saw for that matter, which is impossible)it was only one person; which he was right. So I contested that to him letting his old ass know that it was impossible for him to see that since my windshield is tinted(which gave me away, but who cares). After he realized he was lying(so obvious), he gave me a warning.

Funny how most cops usually lie and people normally don't contest them, for whatever reason that is. So in the end, he was cool about it and what I thought was funny, was the "kid" part.

For the record (I can't believe I'm on Rado's side), I don't like this fucking tint law. I understand they want to see through the windows cuz maybe I'm trying to pull a gun on them and so on and so on.......BUT I'm a law abiding citizen (for the most part) and if I want the windows on MY CAR dark then it should be MY RIGHT in the land of the free to tint my damn windows.

If someone is going to pull a gun on them then they are going to pull a gun on them window tinted or not and if the cop is that afraid then when I pull over they should pull in front of me and walk towards the front of the vehicle because you can see through the front just fine.

I've been tinting my windhsield since my 1st car. I like to have my own privacy when I drive. If I want to pick my nose or have sex while I'm parked, it's my choice

I've only had 1 ticket in my life on my tint, and that was a long time ago in Tampa...Actually, BLM has probably heard of him...Officer Favors, black cop who drives a motorcycle. He's known for that; stopping people with illegal tint. Always around Tampa Palms area.

Its not really the tint I was talking about, my windows are as dark as they can legally be because when they are darker (and they used to be) I sometimes find it hard to see, especially at night. Its the, I'm breaking the law and this guy has the nerve to pull someone like me over. My Rover and I have more important things to do than be called son and reminded that we are not above the law.

i'm all for the tinting of windows... but in the posts it does come across as a sort of "i catch criminals, but i don't worry about breaking the small laws." (obviously not crimes that hurt others). i dunno, situations are all different and what we interpret is often not what you mean. if it all ended in a laugh then it's all good.
i bet you though that next time the cop pulls over someone with really dark tint he approaches that issue first, and THEN says "by the way, i noticed you were in the HOV by yourself."
btw, i also have a conceal and carry permit, but at least here where i live i'm obligated to immediately tell the officer if the handgun is within arms reach upon their approaching the car, is it not the same in FL?

Yes and no(on the gun issue)...If you're pulled over for speeding or a minor offense, I'm not required to tell the officer that. Even if it's within reach(which it was), I don't need to tell them. I hardly ever get pulled over(I'm usually pretty good on the road).

I agree with what you're saying 110%. However, what pisses me off is giving speeding tickets for 10 - 15 over on Interstates and busy highways. I agree and completely understand for speeding in neighborhoods or giving DWIs.

Outside of that though, I think they should be spending their time patrolling drug infested neighborhoods keeping looting, robbery, etc. under control.
