I have backed Dilana from the get go but thougth maybe she might not make it tonight. I thought maybe she did not fit in anymore. but I am sure glad I was wrong and storm is out. next week its anyones to win. and I think its her or maybe toby or even lucas.

my thing on dilana is she might be a little headcasist for the long run, and yeah storm had that one great night, yet, imho, that was a hit song, lol, now they want to all play back up

I am bummed that Storm is out of the running. At this point, I'm cheering for Lukas...but wouldn't be overly disappointed if Toby won. I HATE Dilana....her raspy smoker's voice irritates me, and her personality is even worse. I can't believe she's survived this long.

:hmmm: It seems that Magni has been all but forgotten. I hope the Tommy, Gilby, and Jason havent forgotten about him. He might not have the extra flare but he is definately the most talented IMO. I'd say he's the underdog but I'm pullin for him until the end.

No point doing a poll now with the finale starting in less than 24 hours. Might as well give some predictions on this thread though.

My Dream Scenario: I'm not predicting Magni as the winner, but I sure as hell will be rootin' for him. He is by far my favorite. The fact that he is a family man and the fact that he doesnt have as much originality as the other three might hold him back.

My Prediction: I think Toby will acually pull this one out. He has the look, the girls fuckin love him, he has a really solid voice, second to only Magni IMO. Dilana has really fallen off lately, but she was definately the favorite in the middle of the season. Lukas is a great performer with a lot of flare, but when a song doesnt call for growling, he doesnt have much to fall back on.

Toby is my prediction but GO MAGNI!!!

Last night's show had some pretty good performances.

I really liked Toby's cover of Radiohead's 'Karma Police' I thought that was pretty killer, I loved it. His original is catchy, but already boring...the house band really makes that song.

Lukas' set was easily my favorite. His stripped down/raw performances really work well w/his voice. His original has a little more substance and is catchier than Toby's, imo.

Dilana's cover of 'Roxanne' really captured her vocal range and even though it seemed a bit "Vegas-like" I still enjoyed it. Her original sucks.

Magni, eh, I honestly cannot see him winning. He has too much of an older rocker vibe. He chooses covers from the 70's (that are great classics) but the age group of the majority voters is of a younger percentile and I doubt they connect w/him as much becuase of that. His original is pretty lack luster as well.

Toby will win. He has the charisma, looks, age, lack of family ties, and marketablilty that will drive record sales.

Wow. Thats all I can say. Lukas? I definately didnt see that coming. He's good but I can name 4 or 5 off the show that were just as good if not better. Oh well, it was entertaining.

Judge orders made-for-TV band to change name

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A federal judge has barred a new made-for-TV rock band that includes Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee from calling itself Supernova because that name already has been claimed by a lesser-known band.

But U.S. District Judge John Houston ruled on Wednesday that his court order does not apply to the CBS network's reality show "Rock Star: Supernova," which concluded that night when Toronto native Lukas Rossi was plucked from obscurity to become the new band's lead singer.

Epic Records, which plans to release the new band's first two singles, "It's All Love" and "Be Yourself & 5 Other Cliches," over the Internet on Thursday and their debut album in November, declined to comment on the case.

The CBS-spawned group is slated to launch a North American tour on New Year's Eve in Las Vegas.

In addition to Lee, who was once married to "Baywatch" star Pamela Anderson, the band assembled for the CBS series consists of former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.

The three musicians, along with CBS and producers of the show, were sued in August for trademark infringement by members of the original Supernova, a California-based band formed in 1989 and best known for contributing the song "Chewbacca" to the cult film "Clerks."

The injunction bars anyone but that group's three members -- Jodey Lawrence, Art Mitchell and David Collins -- from performing, recording or selling rock music under the Supernova moniker pending the outcome of the suit.

"This is sweet justice," lawyer Anthony Fletcher said in a statement released on behalf of the original group, which has released four albums. "The band members have worked hard for the past 17 years to establish the name Supernova and are entitled to continue to perform without any other parties -- large or small -- infringing on their rights."

Left unanswered on Wednesday night was how the new band would be referred to on the Internet the day after the final broadcast of "Rock Star," or how Epic would promote the group leading up to its planned November 21 album release.

Each of the show's four finalists already has gone into the studio with Lee, Newsted and Clarke to record the band's first two singles, and Epic plans to put out those containing the winner's vocals on Thursday through Yahoo Inc., label spokesman Michael Moses said.

Neither Yahoo nor Epic, owned by Sony BMG Entertainment, a joint venture between Sony Corp. and Bertelsmann AG, is named as a defendant in the Supernova suit.

"Rock Star: Supernova" has averaged roughly 7 million viewers per episode during its summer run on CBS.
