My PS3
I've played it maybe 20x's since I've had it :thumbsdow :thumbsdow So much for the hassle of getting the fucking thing.

no games, too expensive..
once it drops about $200 bucks and has a few killer games, then I would consider it.

I would like the console - just don't know that I'll really use it all that much....
I use my xbox as a dvs player - so I know I'd use the PS3 for that - but that's not worth $600.....

The Wii or whatever it is called is getting rave reviews, but you can't find those either. Some people suspect they're holding them back to keep up demand, but I think that is foolish. Just seems like none of the game producers launches are thought out very well.

I have had mine since they came out. I do wish I had more time to play it. I have a 4 year old and 11 month old so I can't even really turn the thing on until about 9:30 at night. I have still had a blast with it though. I find myself being more impressed with it everyday. I have just recently loaded all of our pictures and home movies on it. Pretty cool to be able to watch those on the big screen without having to drag out the camera. Casino Royale on bluray is just ridiculous. If you haven't played Motorstorm I recommend you check it out.

By the way, all this talk about blu-ray or hd-dvd is kind of worthless. Neither of these will ever be what the DVD has become. The future is not Hi-Def disks. The future is HD on Demand. Xbox has something like this comming out soon with its IPTV feature. They offer HD movie downloads on Xbox Live right now but it isnt On Demand.
Cable, Satelite, Telephone, and gaming companies are all moving towards HD on Demand. This will make HD-DVD and Blu-Ray a thing of the past. Dont be surprised if both of these disk formats drop of the face of the earth in a few years time. Much like the PSP movies, a thing of the past.

To add to my point about Blu-Ray not being a selling point.
Lets take a look at rado. He represents the average dumb ass American. He dosent have a clue what blu-ray is. He dosent know his PS3 has a blu-ray player. Finally he dosent have an HDTV. He said to himself, "duhhh PS3, that must be cool, duhhhh".

It was a selling point for me. $399 for the 360 premium or $599 for the PS3. My boy has a 360 and I have played it quite a bit. Nothing bad to say about it at all. Gears of War is a great game. I will say Resistance is pretty close graphics wise though. There are plenty of exclusive PS3 games in the pipeline(Lair, MGS, Warhawk, GranTurismo). I think the general trend will be most games are going to be multiplatform if the studios are not owned by Sony or Microsoft. It cost too damn much to make the next gen games for them not to want to be able to sell as many copies as possible. Sony does have a way to go on the online stuff. When you leave it up to the studios to provide the servers the experience is hit or miss. In my opinion, they should charge like Live to make it feel more consistent. I think they are trying to address that with the release of Home this fall.
