My wife took the quiz as she lives today and as she lived in Poland. She got 3.9 planets with her current way of life in America and she got 1 planet with her way of life in Poland.

2.4 for me... not bad for being in an industrialized country, I suppose but it shows I could do better. Pretty sobering.

the only way you could do better is by not owning a car and not having electricity. not going to happen unless you want to spend a few hundred grand on a complete solar system for your house.

Well, I take the train to work and back and don't drive alone, so there's not much I could do better there. I could get a car with better mileage (current one is in the 25-35mph bracket). I don't always eat stuff locally grown although I easily could - I live within walking distance of both a natural food store that sells largely locally grown food and my town's Saturday market where local farmers sell organically grown produce.

So yeah I could probably knock a few points off my total without anything radical like moving into a hut or turning of electricity, lol...

And stop all this silliness about killing oneself....it's only a matter of time before Avian Flu makes the jump to humans and thins the herd. Nature has a way of taking care of itself.

3.5. Not that this means anything. It is just a guilt trip by the radical environmentalists whilst using tons of energy to lambaste us consumers.

Yeah..fuck em. I can't live without heat in the winter, because I'm in Canada. I can't live without air conditioning either, because it gets hot and HUMID around the Great Lakes in summer. And I just can't see myself giving up V6 low-end power for a super-efficient wimpy 4 cylinder car...so...I'll wait for the government to stop burning coal for power before I cramp my lifestyle in the name of the environment.

It's like this kiddos, until we, as humans, decide that we hate knowing when we are going to eat and become hunter gatherers once again, there is jack shit we can do.

Environutalists forget the basic fact that civilization, what they cannot do without, is a blight and until we revert back to our ancient past, there is nothing we can do.

Thusly, I am going to eat...alot of protein and train hard and get big and dare some sickly hippy to tell me I am wrong.

There is actually a lot that one can do, fairly simple things, to consume less and live more simply, WITHOUT significantly affecting one's quality of life. Nobody is talking about reverting to hunter-gatherer mode here.

Some simple things to consider to reduce your eco-footprint that anyone can do:
1. Ride your bicycle or walk to places less than a couple of miles from home, like the grocery store.
2. Consider using public transit more.
3. Line dry your clothes if you have a backyard.
4. Get a more fuel-efficient vehicle.

To dismiss anyone who suggests that an examination of one's personal habits in this regard is a worthwhile thing to do, as a nut, is disingenuous.
