:bravonew:

Like I said in another post I have so many freinds that take GH none stop and to me they all look worse than they used to. I think it has its place at a certain juncture for people and I have used it to my advantage but people are taking it to excess.

I'm not sure we actually understand it yet (how to use it best) although everyone thinks they do. Perhaps we are just at an experimental point in bodybuilding but I don't see the guys on stage these days and feel inspired to look like them even though I admire they're effort

I think guys like vic and phil are bringing the game back there again. The age of the mass monsters will die with cutler and coleman.

No joke. Even when Ronnie won his first Mr. Olympia he looked awesome.

Why do you think it's changed? Do you think that if the guys in Arnold's day had the same knowledge, they would have done the same thing? I don't know. I wonder what has changed mentally.

Hard to answer bro. I think increased dosages, increased calories, GH, slin, judging, etc has all played a part. I also think that sometimes "science" can be wrong when it comes to bodybuilding. The science that we know today says that the guys of the 70's were severely over training. I think that science is flawed. I also think that GH and slin used for to long can actually cause muscle break down and increased gut growth. Take a look at Craig Titus, King Kamali, Greg Kovacs, and the list go on. Over time, their muscle such as arms, legs, etc.. got smaller and flatter, and the their gut grow. When those guts first hit the scene they all looked damn good.

Yeah, Greg Kovacs was a freakin monster. And strong as hell. People used to value hard work and they used to understand when enough was enough. I just wonder where the common sense has gone.

Just a little example of what I am talking about.

First pic is Kovacs in his prime.

Second pic is Kovacs after a few years.

Notice his stomach area. Almost as if the sides of his stomach has collapsed over the years..

I think it all started with dorian. The size of his back wowed people. So guys like coleman started to think about how much more potent freaky size would be than symmetry. And ever since then, it's been about who is the biggest mass monster.

It's an overwhelming desire to be bigger etc etc etc - babyblues made a killer post on the same thing in another sports thread last week - you can't always allow the fans/competitors dictate what happens to the sport - that's what the role of the association is supposed to do...

In other words - let's say UFC fans want/demand more and more knockouts or deaths etc - Dana White and his setup just won't allow it - however that doesn't mean some people don't just watch it in the hopes of seeing someone get their lights knocked out....

Wow!

different shots from different poses but in the second, although his midsection looks hard its as if his obliques have over developed.

Don't know about you guys butthe 2 times I've used GH I have notived a little increase in the size of obliques, for me a good thing because I was slightly lacking power at the midsection but I wouldn't want it to grow any further.

And that pic of Ronnie from the side, he looks like an off season power lifter or retired bloated NFL player

At first in the ufc, that's all fans wanted to see was a knockout. And it was that way for a while until recently. Now there's more people who are actually into the skill that's behind it, but still want to see a good brawlfest or a bloody gnp going on.

Yeah - all I was really getting at was...

"If you give a mouse a cookie"....

It's the organization's/judges responsibility to keep these things in line - all athletes at the level want to do is succeed - they are jaded to the fact it may not be in their best interest and it's nothing against them because we are all like that to an extent - they've just got to put an end to the exploitation most of the top guys of today are forced into......

(BTW - "the mouse will want a glass of milk" if you didn't already now )....
