Harry Potter?

Did anyone wait in line to buy the new book and spend the weekend reading it? Do you know anyone who did?

There's plenty of places out there, amazon being one, where you can find spoilers. It was all over the radio today here how people bought it at midnight and spent 13-17 hours straight reading it. A couple said it was from the moment they bought it at midnight.

Yeah.. that was me lol. I couldn't wait to get a hold of it. But now it is weird that it was the last book and it is all over. Strange how you can get attached to a book character, especially one pointed at kids.

I've got a client who met a girl online a few months ago and he went to meet her this past weekend/week - he said one of their "dates" was going to be an all night reading after purchasing the book Friday night - I haven't gotten all of the details from him yet but from what he said it was worth it ...

I was like that forever. But honestly it was the Harry Potter books that got me to actually focus on the story, once i got into them I was hooked. I am in the middle of reading the Left Behind series now, those are good books as well... make you think too.

I'm the same way, but it seems that as I read a few more books for english class, I got better at focusing. The teacher said it is part of what it is to "practice" reading. To start I really had to read something that I really was interested in learning more about. They were political books.

I finished reading mine last night...I couldn't put the thing down over the past two nights! Good story, and a fitting ending.

I wanted to read the Da Vinci Code, but after seeing the movie I kind of lost interest. You may just have to find something and dedicate yourself to reading it to start practicing. My trouble is finding some quite time to myself to read. I can't do it late in the evenings because it will make me tired.

I'd still recomend The DaVinci Code - but if you're against reading it now that you've seen it - read Angels & Demons.

I am the same way, I don't have much time to commit to reading... but, once I read the first Harry Potter, I was hooked... it's such a great story, harry as a 10-11 year old boy who at home raised by his aunt and uncle who pretty much hate him, harry finds out that his parents weren't in a car accident like he was told... they were killed by an evil magical dark wizard and that the dark wizard "voldemort" also attempted to kill him as a baby and it was harry that sort of killed voldemort. he finds out that he is super famous for that at the same time realizing that he has magical powers that he never knew of.

I think the intrigue is that it's like waking up one day to find out everything you know isn't what you've been told. Like your whole world turned upside down. Then the fact that he is only 11 and he is dealing with all of these adult issues -- harry is a good person and it's the whole good vs. evil thing too. it's really interesting and you really end up rooting for harry. definately a good read!

I'm the same...Unless I'm reading a book about medicine/meds/chiropractic stuff.
