Got told never to come back to the gym

Bummer,

so I train at this place and get on great with all the guys in there, they come from all walks and all groups of life but we all share a genuine pashion for the iron. Everyone is relaxed, some compete some don't, some go out and chase the ladies together and others like me are happy home boys but its always good fun, or was!


some time ago the owner, an awsome bodybuilder in his own right that has won amateur shows in the states sold the gym.

The guy that bought it is all about money and nothing else, doesn't work out, looks like a streek of piss, reckons he used to tour with Kevin Leverone and shit, he's got pictures of him handing out prizes to people on stage and crap, probably used to run some supplement comany.

First he puts the membership prices up, tells me I have to pay more and have to contract for a year. I agree not to do that but to pay a bit more, cash on a month to month basis.

Next thing he's introducing membership cards and everybody has to swipe on their way in, none of the freindlness as before. His attitude stinks and you often finish up more wound up coming away from the gym.

Next he banned one guy from the gym because he argued when told he couldn't consume his own protien powder drink in the gym reception, since it wasn't purchased on the premises WTF even though the drinks he sells are real expensive.

He then sacks one of the old staff a good guy and gets his son working their, his sons attitude is even worse, he tells me I've no deposit money left in the drawer (I put like £30 in there each month so I don't have to pay for drinks etc and bring small money each time. There was money in there albeit only £0.40, next time I'm in the guy tells me his son was diplomatic about it with me, without me even raising the subject infering that I wasn't, his son was anything but diplomatic.

today I'm training shoulders, I walk in and his son is like, 'wheres your membership card, I say I havn't got one (truth is his dad said a few weks ago I no longer needed to bring it since nobody else was bothering so I lost it).
Then he get all agressive in the face spitting fire saying 'what you haven't got one at all'

At this point I think fuck this I've only come to train shoulders not argue with this skinny punk and I walked off to the sound of 'excuse me, excuse me'

I;m coming to the end of my workout doing some dumbell shrugs supered with bent over laterals. I rest the shrug dumbells on the banch as always while doing laterals. I finish my shrugs and the agro creep has put my lateral 24kg dumbells away!

I say sorry mate I was using them, he says well I'm just tidying up its not my fault people leave dumbells lying around (I'm the only guy in the dumbell room and my weights are together).

He then starts to walk off, leaving the dumbell back on the wrack for me to get out again and turn and say 'take your dumbells off the bench' I'm know fucked off, I say no I always put them there and theres nobody else in here.

He comes right in my face and says really agressiveley 'what do you mean you always put them there'?

a couple of things then happened and he finished up on the floor against the wall with weights dropping around him since he bumped into the weight stack somehow, cowering.

I said a couple of things, matters of fact so to speak, while he was in that position. Then he ran to reception and asked his dad in a loud voice to call the police.

I walked out and a few of the boys said to me don't worry you have witnesses. The gym owner said I'm calling the police and was on the phone to them while I said a couple more things.

What annoys me most is that he's a steroid dealer and no I wouldn't grass his ass but he actively told guys that got a bit for others 'I want a piece of any action' like there is much if anything with aas anyway.

These people are so aggressive and I just want to pay my money, train talk to the guys and go home, they come in your face and shit all agressive, then run to dad ,(the drug dealer) for the police.

Its nothing to be proud of from my point of view but trust me I did nothing out of order and the son was like 21 and about 80lb lighter so why the fuck try and intimidate me when I'm a quiet guy and then squirm like a bitch afterwards.

Anyway, I gotta find some other place now buy maybe its a good thing after all, I'll miss those guys in the gym though

yeah I know it feels weird but that gyms days are numbered anyway the owner is pissing everybody off, he wants people to pay high prices for all his products, walk around in fear of him and his son, do as least use of the equipment as possible and go home.

The problem is he's bought a bodybuilders gym and we arn't like that, theres been other guys that have left, fell out with him. I don't usually argue but if someone keeps pushing thats it I'm done with them and I don't want to know.

Now I have to do some searching around where I work and where I live but I'm actually glad I'm not going there again above anything.

fuck that gym, it has turned into a pussy gym with those new owners. how far are you from Dorian's Dungeon Gym? I would for sure be training there if it was within 30 minutes of me.

LOL your funny also bro, the way your mind works, Dorians' gym is about 2 and a half hours away but I suppose england looks so small to you you think its like just down the road.

I read a story once about Ernie Taylor. He used to get there before anyone at like 4 am in the morning. When he opened the gym he had to toss a 5lb dumbell down the steps to scare the rats away. Not sure if it was BS or not.

get with your friends there and all of you guys switch gyms. if i seen that happen i would leave right behind you.

he wasn't a lil kid bro, early to mid 20's but he was skinny with an attitude from hell. I would never hit someone so underpowered, even an asshole!

a lot of guys have left already, don't really wanna drag anyone else into it but things will pick up and I'll see those guys again
