The nerve of some people...

So, the other night sonis and I were in the garage unwrapping our new patio furniture and taking it into the house chair by chair. We have an access door that goes to the garage from the house. Well, I guess I left it cracked enough for both of our dogs to sneak into the garage. The minute they walk out, there is a man and his daughter walking their dog. So, my dogs (a male Rott, and a 45 lb mutt) go trotting up to them. Meanwhile, the little girl starts screaming her face off, and I am running out to the street to get them. TThe man pick up his DOG and not his little girl..The dogs did nothing but scare this little girl. And, I can understand, two strange dogs, one pretty big, coming up to you at night would freak someone out. I apologized to the ddad and got the dogs back in the house.

Well, last night the starter on my car went out, and someone brought me home from work. Mind you- the whole house was dark, and I was home alone. Not two minutes after I am in the house, there's a knock at the door. It's the man who was walking on the street. He says "Uh, I'm the guy who was walking past your house last night"...So, I said I remembered, etc. Then he goes off on this rant about how freaked out his daughter still is, and how he will be walking by for years to come, blah blah blah. I said again that I was sorry, and it was a complete accident. He then gets total horses ass with me, cuts me off and says "Let me finish!" I started to see red at that point. Then he begins to tell me he couldn't believe I didn't come out and CONSOLE HIS DAUGHTER!!!! (You know, the one he left screaming on the street). I said "I apologized to you as I was trying to get my dogs in the house, and attempting to diffuse the situation". He said he didn't remember that, etc.

Now, I take full responsibility for my dogs getting out. I also understand people are afraid of big dogs, and Rotts especially. But, 1) I was home alone. 2) When I was getting dropped off, I could've sworn I saw a car in front of us driving past my house. 3) My dogs did absolutely nothing. 4) I apologized to him right after! So, it not only pisses me off that he came to my door being a horse's ass and made a bigger issue of it, but he was SURVEILLING my house and knocked on my door the minute I got home.

I mean, what did this skinny fucking turd guy want from me?? Did he just knock on my door just to go off on me?? Because don't think for a second that in time we won't find out where he lives. Not that I would do any sort of retaliation, but Sonis would like to have a few words with this douche bag.

You should have called him on the way he picked up his 'rat on a leash' instead of his daughter, called him the most pathetic excuse for a parent you've ever seen because he did so, and then slammed the door in his face...HARD.

I bet he'd have been so steamed that he wouldn't have slept a wink that night.

That's the problem with "parenting" these days. When we were kids are parents would have told us to get over and it was just a dog and nothing happened. But I'm sure this guy is letting his daughter continually get upset and get all sorts of attention for doing it.

LMAO. I can see that guy coming to my house the next day and saying "let me finish". ahahaha. dude would have wished he never came over.

he acts like your dog bit her or some shit. the little girl and the father need to get the fuck over it. that is the problem with America, we have too much of nothing to be afraid of. can you imagine a little Iraq boy being "freaked out" over a dog that did nothing to him. he wouldn't be, because he has seen the rough side of life. something like seeing a dog wouldn't even phase him. this little girl on the other hand lives in a world of barbies and candy cakes. i love america but boy do i hate what this country has become. a bunch of complaining whining sissy's that have nothing to complain about in the first place! RANT OVER.

Similar situation happened to me, but no confrontation. I had my dog (about an 80 lb American Bulldog) at the park, on his leash. There was a lady walking around the track carrying her dog. No I am throwing the ball with my dog and he is fetching and bringing it back, I kept his leash on in case I needed to grab him real quick. Well this lady gets about 75 yds away and lets her yappy ass little dog down, and the dog runs right to my dog and starts barking and growling. My meathead dog just looks at him and laughs. I run over, grab his leash, apologize for any trouble and walk away. This lady picks her dog back up, and when she is about 50 feet from her car, lets her dog down again. Of course her dog runs right back over to my dog. I have my dogs leash in hand at this point and am holding him back, barely, b/c at this point he is tired of this little shit. This f-ing lady just stands there and calls for her unobedient dog for like 5 minutes. I look at her and say, I hope you plan on getting your dog soon b/c if you don't I'm letting mine loose and make no promises for what happens next. She looks at me like I am crazy! What the hell is wrong with people with little dogs. They act like the responsibility for animal control lies solely on the owner of "the big dog". Drives me insane......

I'll bet he was pretty embarassed by the very fact that HE didn't console his daughter, but he found it easier to point the finger at you. I agree with Bouncer, but what bothers me even more is the attitude that it's always someone else's fault. This guy didn't do anything to help the situation yet he was ready and waiting to make sure you knew it was your fault. Americans have this attitude that they're entitled and that they're beyond reproach. This guy needs to grow a spine, step up and take responsibility for himself and stop passing the buck. Geez.

I totally didn't even think about it that way- that he was feeling guilty about leaving his daughter on the street screaming , and trying to make it my fault.
The thing that is so infuriating is that I did apologize. I ran out to the street as fast as I could to diffuse the situation and get my dogs inside, and yet the guy complains I didn't come back out? I feel like I did everything I could, and he made it sound like I did nothing.

I'll bet $20 that the guy went home to his pregnant wife, and (oh yeah- he told me in his rant that she was pregnant), she saw how freaked out the girl was, and then she stuck his foot up his ass for not protecting their daughter. So, I'm sure the wife made it that much worse for him, and he wouldn't feel good about himself until he tried to come teach me a lesson.

You probably will appreciate the phrase (as I do) that is going around a lot now. "I love America, I hate Americans"

EXACTLY.

It's not about helping your fellow man...It's about blaming your fellow man. Americans now are so ready to point the finger rather than looking within themselves. They are so ready to make someone look bad and not take responsibility for their own lives and actions.

I mean, I felt bad enough for what happened. I was extremely embarassed that my dogs scared that little girl. I don't know what else I could've done except for what I did. But, why the need to come and make me feel that much worse about it? Give me this whole guilt trip about his daughter, like I meant for it all to happen. I just don't get it. It really does upset me that this guy did this. Now, had my dogs done something, I could understand it a little more. But they were simply being dogs.
