Here's the thing about talking to director Michael Bay. It's always fun. He always has something to say. He's a fired-up guy. And usually it's not something confectionary about how much he loves everyone.

How do I know? We spoke last night at the after-party for the Hollywood Film Festival's Hollywood Awards at the Beverly Hilton.

How's your night so far?
I've never seen such a rude awards show. Could you believe that? I've never seen a show where everyone talks through the first seven awards. The worst awards show I've ever been to—oh, my God, the worst. It was like, thank God somebody finally said something.

Yikes. Happy subject. So...the next Transformers. Does Shia LaBeouf have creative input?
He has zero creative input.

Yeah, but he's like the man now—Mr. Indiana Jones—so he's totally gonna show up and be all, "I know what works!"
No, but I'm friends with Shia. I really love working with him.

So, where do you go with it? How do you up the stakes?
It's not about upping it. It's about still keeping the heart.

Any new characters coming in?
Oh, yeah…a lot of fun stuff. I keep telling the writers, remember the heart and the magic, remember the heart and the magic. It's not about being bigger.

Speaking of bigger, the DVD is doing great. Did you watch the American League Championship series? It's the smartest advertising for Transformers.
No, but we're number one. Go figure!

Megatron is dead, and the Autobots now live on earth in peace. However, in a distant galaxy, Starscream has declared himself the new leader of the Decepticons, which angers those loyal to Megatron, particularly Soundwave. Soundwave, who is able to give life back to fallen robotic organisms, leads his own band of Decepticons to earth to resurrect Megatron. To make matters worse, Starscream has heard of an energy source birthed from the Allspark by Sector 7, and he leads his own band to earth as well to take that source of energy. However, Soundwave cannot complete the resurrection without another energy source known as the Creation Matrix, which just so happens to be in the possession of Optimus Prime. With one band of Decepticons closing in on Optimus Prime and another band of Decepticons looking for the ultimate power, the Autobots, as well as Sam, Mikaela, and the former members of Sector 7, find themselves caught in the middle of a Decepticon civil war that could ravage the planet, and they must fight their way out of it in order to save the human species from extinction.

one thing i didnt like is, they made magatron to easy to beat in the end. he was a badass fucker.

Yea I know...But Optimus always gets his ass kicked and Mega did die quite easily...They need to put Optimus on some Tren

He was lame. Bad guys are always lame. He was the physically largest Transformer, yet he was destroyed by a child. Not because he was easy to defeat, but because he did not anticipate his enemy. He did not see their strengths. Next transformers is gonna be fucking sick and I am so excited.

Its classic drive/determination vs. brute strength. Good vs. Evil. Good will always prevail over evil, because good has the determination to survive. Good can find strength within itself.
