I'm republican, and I am undecided between Guiliani and Thompson. My in-laws are big Hillary supporters...

Fred's movie roles is helping him IMO...The guy has a "Don't fuck with me attitude"...And I like that...I just can't see a movie star becoming the next president...I do like the fact that he specializes in Intelligence & Nat Sec.

I like Hillary for a number of reasons; Illinois residentShe's a grad of Yale Law School...The lady is fucking smart...Not to mention she is a woman and being able to compete in a male role, deserves an applause.

Ronald Reagan was a movie star - and an excellent president.

I don't think Hillary will make it, because she's a female. I like Obama, don't think he'll make it either, because he's black.

Where's Ron Paul?

Ron was no where near as good though; but true...

Let's not forget that Thompson is actually a Senator in TN...It's not like he lacking political knowledge. I still don't think the US is ready to elect a female president, or an african american. But with the last 8 years of Bush, I feel that the public has an overwhelming cry for new leadership, which means democratic. Hillary is currently leading the democratic race, with Obama/Gore/Edwards pretty even.

As stated, I agree that we probably aren't ready for a female or a black, and if they did happen to get elected, I'd fear for their life. I do agree that it will be a Democrat though, so Gore probably has a good shot.

I honestly don't think the fact that Hillary is female will have much to do with it. People just aren't ready for to deal with another ridiculous Clinton administration. And don't think for one second that she didn't pull the strings the first time around. I just don't think she's got the integrity that it takes to make a good leader. At least that's part of my criteria for voting.

I would agree. The deficit ws at it's recent lowest during Clinton's administration. Now granted, there was not a war going on. But the economy was good...I just think that Hillary is more concerned with proving a woman can do the job, than actually doing the job. I think she is a little self-absorbed...

I haven't made up my mind yet, but I can see myself voting for Hillary. She is competent, driven and smart. She has good ideas and will do a great job if people just get past the woman thing and give her half a chance.

I want a president who quits screwing around and gets down to addressing the key issues facing this country.

1. Fix the budget deficit by getting the defense budget under control (and not get into foreign entanglements), and address the national debt.
2. Come up with a scheme for comprehensive health care for all Americans. 15% of Americans have no health insurance. This is based on the last census - since many disenfranchised people are undercounted by the census, the real number is almost certainly higher. For a country that thinks of itself as the greatest in the world, that is a bloody disgrace in my opinion.
3. Develop a sound energy policy for the country that will get us off dependence of foreign oil. And I don't just mean drilling for more. Fund alternative energy research/development, fund public transportation in our cities so that we can lower our dependence on driving, etc.
4. Get past the rhetoric and really address the immigration problem. Get a visa program in place for agricultural workers, get tough on illegal immigration and allow more generous legal immigration for highly skilled workers.

Where is Ron Paul? That is a good question. Ron Paul has a lot of support via internet. He's gone after a different base than the rest of the politicians. I don't know if he necessarily can win a party nomination off of his off base support from younger/internet voters though.

Just keeping in mind here that you will never find a President that will be able to tackle immigration policy in the way some American want.

Those are 4 really great points. I just don't see either a republican or democrat caring about every one of those. Some of those points are more suited towards seperate parties. But we all know, you will never find a present who emphasises every issue...

He really does. He has a big "young" following, which is great because it's new/different.

He's got some support but not enough to propel himto the front of the race. He'll finish 3rd, at best, for his party.
