Does that mean I want to prove that I can do it? I have no idea. Of course I am concerned about the impact on my life, it just hard to put into words how I feel about it. Other than to say it feels like something I should do.

Maybe its because so many of my relatives are military personnel. I don't know. I think the thing that makes it hardest for me to join is I don't agree with the action we are taking in Iraq, politically.

Sorry for the jumble you kind of got it as it came out...
IMO, joining the military is an honor not to be taken lightly. Not only that but it will be part of your every waken moment for the next 4 years, at least. If it is truly what you want to do with your life bro, I encourage and support that whole heartedly. If not, don't do it. It isn't something you can go into half assed. Its all or nothing. just my 2cents.

Like I said, it just feels like the right thing to do, thats the only way I can describe it.

As for being surprised at what I see, I'm sure I will be. There can't be a thing in the world that prepares someone like me for going into a war zone. Never been, so I do realize it will be somewhat of a shock.
