SuperiorMuscle.com "Rep System" Explained

By default the vBulletin version 3.0.0 software comes with a feature called 'Reputation'. This feature can be used on sites to agree or disagree on posts made by other users.

Users who do good, will end up with a positive Reputation. And users who don't do any good, will end up with a lower or even a negative Reputation. Having a Reputation is good, it could show to other members what the quality of your posts is, or how your behaviour on the web site is. You can build up your Reputation points through several means. Through posting, through helping others, or by being online a lot. Sharing your hard work, helping others or even for being registered for a x period of time.

(Users on the web site can now spread around Reputation)

Here is the list which hopefully explains a few things, and answers some questions:
  • Can I hide my Reputation points? : No
(Sorry, everybody is equal on our site, hiding behind a rock isn't an option)
  • Default Reputation :10
(Every member on our web site starts with 10 Reputation points)
  • Number of Reputation ratings to display :10
(If you receive Reputation points from other members, up to 10 will be listed in the home of your user control panel. It will also display your total amount of Reputation points)
  • Administrator's Reputation Power : 150
(This setting is the number of Reputation points that an administrator gives or takes with each Reputation click)
  • Do I get Reputation for being on-line/registered? : 365
(For every 30 number of days, you gain 1 point of Reputation -altering power)
  • Do I get Reputation for posting? : 200
(For every 200 number of posts, you gain 1 point of Reputation -altering power)
  • Do I get Reputation for having Karma? : 300
(For every 300 points of Reputation, you gain 1 point of Reputation -altering power)
  • Does my Reputation count? (posts) : 50
(This setting is the number of posts that you must have before your Reputation -hits count towards other's Reputation points)
  • Does my Reputation count? (general) : 10
(You must have more then 10 Reputation points before your Karma hits count on others)
  • Daily Reputation clicks limit :10
(This is the number of Reputation clicks that you may give over any 24 hour period. Administrators are exempt from this limit)
  • Reputation user spread :20
(This setting is the number of different users that a person must give Reputation to before they can hit the same person again. Administrators are exempt from this limit)

I hope this is a little bit clear !

So what is the point of the rep system? What defines "doing good"?

I think it's more of an entertainment factor to add to the fun factor.

As far as doing good, I would say staying green instead of red. I'm sure Rado will be red soon.

I don't care about what value the rep system gives me. I just like reading the little comments that I get with rep. Its like showin some love

Its nice to know that people are keeping an eye out on your training and efforts and consider that you are doing a great job or that you have valuable info to offer. Although I do get alot of rep for my pics, lol. Those are funny too... But my pictures tell alot about progress. Its the best way I keep track of where I came from and where I am headed!
