Fixing Credit?

How well does those online credit fixers work and who has any experience with them?

is your credit already in the dumps, and you are trying to build it back up? or are you having problems making payments now?

In order for you to "fix" your credit, you need to pay off your bad debt...Those companies that say they "fix" your credit, don't do anything but make it worse...If you need some good advice, buy Dave Ramsey's book or go to his site;

My wife & I have been on his plan for almost a year now and she has no more debt(except the new car)and I only have the Rover and the house on my credit report...It's a great book and quite easy to follow; but he's en extremist when it comes to getting out of debt...My goal is to have a "0" Beacon score in the next few years...Sounds crazy, but it's better.

It's already bad. Many things over the years growing up. I have moved so much I don't even know what's out there. I haven't had anything go on there in at least a few years, but there is still some stuff following me. A guy I work with said he used one a while ago but can't remember who it was. They found what he owed, challenged one that he didn't understand (got it cleared), he payed the rest and has been working on re-building it now (not through the company, just with financing small things).

love david ramsey. my mom got me listening to him sometimes. i love to hear when people call in to tell him they are debt free now.

The guy is a genius...We watch his show ED...Never seen anyone quite like him...He has people being Debt Free within a year at most 2yrs...And some of them owe over $80K of Debt!!!...Don't get me wrong, it's NOT easy, but you do it if you want...Because of him, I've put money into Mutual Funds & some other stuff I never would of done without his help...We've paid off a good amount of debt(including my wife's debt)and soon enough, my Rover will be paid off and all we'll have left is the house.

The only thing I am making payments on is my student loan and there is only about $900 left. I will pay that off when I get my tax return. Otherwise I only have monthly bills like rent and electricity. My thing is that there was some things I defaulted on, or what ever you call it, when I was younger. I can't even finance $500 for a washer and dryer.

Well that's pretty bad if you can get financed on that...If I was you, I would get my ass in check and pay off your debt and stay debt free...Pay for it cash; you don't have it, you don't buy it...That's the only way to do it...Credit is money you don't have...That's why it's called CREDIT.

I don't get it. The higher your beacon score, the less likely you are to be delinquent. Meaning the higher the number the better your credit is.

But when you have no debt, you have no beacon score; eventually that is...His philosophy to things is quite simple...If you don't have it in the bank, then don't buy it...His belief is that people who are not financially stable, is because they're in debt...Just ask yourself how many people you know(or yourself)are in debt because of credit card debt...The money you earn, you should make it work for you...Buy this book here;

This book here(not to mention Dave's book)is by far the best books I've ever bought...I can honestly say I have more money now than ever before; and more to come...Do you have 6 months to a year of bills(cash for bills) set aside? Do you have 2-3x's of YOUR income money set aside? Do you have ANY credit card with a balance on them? The point is NOT to have debt...Why work your ass off every day, get your pay and then it goes ALL to debt? Fuck that bro...I'm not living a life like that nor will I let myself do that.

Do you respond to people so well in real life too Rado? The whole point of this thread is I'm trying to get things fixed, but you feel it necessary to make it sound like you have this brilliant idea that I should get my credit fixed. I never bought anything on credit. My things are like a cell phone I thought I had canceled properly but something got screwed up on the Sprint's end. I tried to get it worked out, but in the end they just said I needed to pay the balance for the months it wasn't canceled yet (after I had tried to cancel it. Other one is a ticket I got in California just before moving away. So I didn't get it taken care of and didn't get the letters about paying the fine, so it got sent to a collection agency. The last that I know of was my last electric bill that in Oklahoma was suppose to come out of my deposit and the balance sent to me. Well the whole deposit was sent to me. They were sending my bill to my old address and never once called me even though my number was the same. Now before you take any more liberties with your superior intelligence I will clarify some things I know you will comment on. I wasn't trying to finance the washer and dryer because I didn't have the money, I was trying to do it so I can start rebuilding my credit. Also I don't give my new address to anyone I don't want to continue to get crap from. The only people I give it too is people that I am still in business with, like my insurance and my student loan.

Wrong...You're still paying interest on the money you borrowed, which means you never had that money to being with and now you're paying that Credit company interest??? Means you're money is NOT working for you...You should have your money work for you; I mean, you did work for it right?

It had a some good info, but it was more of a book talking his life and how/what he learned from his real dad and his friends dad. In terms of helping someone financially...I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

But his life experiences is what I learned from it...It does have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to finances...But to each his own You should watch Dave's show on TV.
