Senate Votes to Expand Spy Powers
WASHINGTON — After more than a year of wrangling, the Senate handed the White House a major victory on Tuesday by voting to broaden the government’s spy powers and to give legal protection to phone companies that cooperated in President Bush’s program of eavesdropping without warrants.

I am not really sure how I feel about this, I have always been a big fan of surveillance cameras all over the place. I think what you do in public is not an invasion on you privacy rights because you are in public. Wire tapping is not the same & I do understand it but I also see the road to abuse of such a measure. I also think the government has many tools & laws available to them as it is that the either don't take advantage of or don't fund the enforcement of properly

I am pretty sure they voted the bill down, but that jack ass Bush is trying to push it through. He said he will postpone a trip to Africa he has planned if it doesn't pass. What a piece of shit.
