One of Those Days

Man, today has just been in the shiter. I'm so fucking pissed off.

I scheduled my house closing for 10 am tomorrow morning. I did this shit last week. I set up work meetings and lunches around this date. I planned on driving 3+ hours in the early AM, doing the closing, & then the rest of my day.

So I touch base yesterday with my agent who doesn't reply, so I email the title company at 8:30 am. The lady tells me there still waiting for the information from the lender. I explain my situation, she says she understands, & that'll she'll stay in touch throughout the day. At 4:45, I've still not heard from that bitch, god damn it, so I email her fat pencil pushing ass back and ask her what the fuck is going on.

She tells me, oh, I don't think I can get everything done for a 10 am signing, how about 4:30? I had to wait 15 minutes before I could respond because I don't think telling her...how about sucking my dick would come across too well.

I tell her that I have prior commitments & please validate the prior time. She comes back with...find somebody in the area that you can give your power of attorney or... we can email you the documents on Monday and you can sign & notarize them then. I'm like okay, so you want me to mail the keys Monday too?

Then I open the mail & low and behold there is a letter from my insurance company telling me that effective 6/29/08 my home owner's policy becomes a non-renewable policy. My agent got wind of my new mailing address. I told him that I was going between two properties, yada yada ya & he told me no problem...keep him in mind for any insurance needs where I'm currently at or if I move back to town & then he pulls the fucking rug out from beneath me?

I tried to call him, but they were closed for the day. Needless to say, he'll no longer have my business either.

If you're still with me, sorry for the book, but I really had to get this shit off of my chest. I'm still wound a bit too tight, but this helps.

times like this when you just have to sit back and realize that some things are beyond our control and tell yourself it will workout.

Yeah, in the grand scheme of things you're right.

It has just been a mess with my realtor & this closing company. They had me fill out a bunch of paperwork and mail it back to them...only to have the lady ask me several times for the same information.

I feel like I've been overly nice with the closing company until today and feel like being nice to her means that I can just drop everything for her needs. It seems a lot of things haven't been done too professionally.

Who I really feel sorry for is the new owners. They're the ones that won't be able to start moving their stuff in this weekend & where will they stay if their lease is up...which I'm sure it is since it is the end of the month. I also contacted all of the utility companies and scheduled my services to be disconnected effective tomorrow.

In the back of my mind, I'm really thinking of the new owners & hope they don't think I'm the sorry bastard that couldn't make it happen. I can hear the title company telling them now that they tried to get me to close at 4:30, but I couldn't do it....not, hey, it is our responsibility, we dropped the ball & you have to pay for our mistake. Oh well, at least I know I've done all I can do.
