Looking to move to Australia or UK
I know there are people on this board from these two locations. My questions are about living wages. What is a good living wage in your countries? I've been to the UK and everything there was much more expensive than the US and taxes are higher from what I understand, but I have no idea about Australia. Any information you can give would be appreciated. I've basically just been on wikipedia looking these things up.

Australia is one of the highest taxed countries in the world. This country was alot better before the howard goverment and GST.In recent years, peoples attitudes have changed alot in this country. I would seriously consider the reasons you want to move here. An awesome place to visit though mate.

I can't do it until I get off probation for the furnishing charge. I might as well find a job somewhere exciting until then.

We had some family that lived in Australia, and they moved here a year ago...I am guessing this is the reason they did.

I suppose I should chime in about the UK.
Average wage is around £27,000, generally people get paid more the closer they live to London. Problems have been the house prices which were too high (£175,000) relative to peoples wages but that is changing right now. People (foreigners) tend to judge UK by London which is wrong, London is a tourist trap and everything is expensive. Its suitability really depends on your line of work or what your looking for; an experience for a while, or to settle permanent, or using it as a base to travel Europe. Let me know any more questions you have
