They say she is veering away from Florida now and that people from the Carolinas up through New England should start preparing for the worst. She looks ugly!

We have our hurricane survival kits all prepared. Lots of canned protein, peanutbutter, jugs of water and juice. I used to live in a flood zone right by the water...after a voluntary evacuation one year on our wedding anniversary I decided our next house would not be near the water.

It is a Cat-5 and it is also the 12th most powerful Atlantic hurricane on record. Scary shit. I hope it doesn't hit down here. Actually, I hope it doesn't hit anywhere on the mainland. That bitch is screaming w/chaos and destruction.

Doom is on a distinguished road
Thats a beautiful storm, there hasnt been one so defined since 2000 and it was in the pacific. This is moving slowly on a NW pace, so its going to brush the bahamas one way or another. All tropical storms need a constant water temp of at least 80 degrees to survive, if it were to strike the new england area, it wouldnt start to down grade till about the NC, Virginia border...but as long its in the water it is, it will intensify...Im guessing 175mph winds at its peak, that is as long as it doesnt come in contact with any easterly wind shear

If it does like most storms it will lose a bit of it's wind strength right before landfall, but the speed it is traveling will pick up. So it will actually be more dangerous.

I went through Hugo and don't want to go through another one, but it looks like it wants to visit the Carolinas.
