A Perfect Circle: Thirteenth Step
What did you guys think about this record?
BLM? I thought it was a little disappointing! I was really expecting a much more dynamic record. Overall it's a little boring and uneventful. Maynard sounds like he's bored as hell! It doesn't sound like his soul and emotions are in it! I really thought that James Iha would bring a new flavor to the band, but again I was left feeling a little short-changed. The record has it's moments, it just didn't live up to what I have come to expect from a group of such great musicians. The single is a pretty cool song, but unfortunately it's the best one on the record IMO. Anyway - what did you guys think about it? BLM, my man...I really want to hear what you think about it.

I really like it. "The noose" is one of my favorite songs. I had it on leg day and I liked it. It is kinda mellow but that is one of my favorite things about it. I don't want it to be the same as Tool.

I wasn't overly impressed w/the single, but I have not heard the rest of the cd. I will have to hit the ftp up for that (
 ) and then let ya know what I think. I'm still waiting for his Tapeworm project w/Trent Reznor to come out. If it ever does.

In Guitar World they said it was really hard to recreate the different layers of the first album live. So it is a little more stripped down. However James Iha of Smashing Pumpkins the new guitarist and bassist Geordie White(Twiggy) of Marilyn Manson were not on many of the song that were previously recorded before they joined the band. They jokingly advised people to come see them the second time throught your town because they are still working thing out.

I had to bump this again just to emphasize how FUCKING AWESOME this cd is. I still haven't stopped listening to it. Finally, some real quality music. It's so few and far between anymore.

I love this side project from Tool....it shows so much versatility of talent on the part of Keenan. I think the whole point was to not have the same guitar driven sonic sound of tool with PC. He is definately going for a more etheral sound that he feels doesn't fit Tools image. Very cool move on his part.
I love both styles!!
