Thanks everyone. I'm doing a lot better and got to go home today.
You guys are so sweet!I was really scared when the pain got so intense...I had a similar attack a few months ago but was able to deal with it at home. It comes on slowly with back pain for a few hrs., more like a pulled muscle than a lung problem. Apparently it's what they call pleurisy and the lining around the lung gets inflamed and rubs against the ribcage causing pain with each breath. I had been dealing with a cold for about a week which probably contributed to it. Luckily once I got to the ER they hit me up with lots of morphine so I could take some decent breaths. I'm still hurting with deeper breaths but nothing at all like I was the other night. I'm upset because I was supposed to be in surgery this morning for my boobs to be fixed and now this procedure will have to be rescheduled for the 4th time. Grrrrrrrrrr! The old lady in the room across the hall from me...she was scarey at times, especially when my curtain was open and she would look at me and call me mamma and ask to get her out of there, but at other times she was like a little girl and I wanted to go in and humor her and pretend to be the person she was wanting to talk to. One of the nurses asked her how old she was and she replied that she was 14 y.o. She sounded like Minnie Mouse and during the day she was pretty much ok in her own little world, but once it was night and it got dark you could tell she was scared. Poor thing. My roommate was OK but had her quirks (like talking to herself when the strong pain meds took over). She was so happy to have a "normal" person rooming with her since I was the 3rd person she was with...first one was Minnie Mouse and the other was another old woman who had difficulty making it to the bathroom. My roommate just moved here from NY so we got along pretty well. We had some good laughs...I'll call her tonight to see how she's making out. Cory...thanks for entertaining me last night. I'm gonna be looking for those pics soon!Stromba's been wonderful and is taking such great care of me. Thank you hun. I think it's your turn to wear the sexy nurse outfit now and give me a special rubdown.

  MrsP's back. And the comment that you made about Stromba is great. I admire that he is so great to you. I can only hope to have a girl appreciate me that much.
