Needy Families

First of all, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Now, I just want to mention this so that we all might stop a minute and think about all the many people who aren’t as fortunate as us, and some who will not be able, either because of illness of monetary problems, to have a Merry Christmas or happy New Year. One of my employee’s husband and a friend have made 4 deliveries to a small town in West Virginia since Thanksgiving to help out the many needy people there. They, and I, live in the Foothills of NC near Charlotte and it’s a 400 mile round trip, so it’s not just across town. The church where they delivered the “care packages” was so run down, they had cables inside the church strung from wall to wall to keep the building from collapsing. When the minister ran the church bell to let the people in the area know that he needed help to unload the packages, many came, some in tennis shoes because they had no boots. Boots that had holes in the soles. Poorly insulated outer garments and otherwise very worn clothing. There was snow on the ground and these people had to be freezing, but not a whimper of their lack of comfort, only happiness that there at least would be some toys, clothing and food for their families for Christmas. The most poingnant story I heard was about a woman in her mid 30’s who’s husband had just died of cancer and her 12 year old son was diagnosed with Leukemia. Her house was small and very run down and SHE HAD NO HEAT. Not once did she complain about anything. There were many other stories like that in this small town, and I know there are many other towns in America just like it. So when you get upset that you aren’t making the gains in the gym that you want, or can’t get that new car, dress, suit, sound system, you want. Think about these people and count your blessings. I have not been able to think about these people without becoming very emotional, and all I can do is send them money as a gesture of support, and it still leaves me wanting to do more. So please, be thankful for what you have, and if you know a needy family, help them if you can. If you do, you’ll have the best Christmas ever. I love you all and best wishes to each of you. BB

GREAT post Bonebreaker........Its nice to have people like you around.......I buy food and gifts for families at x mas also....and make a point to take my boys with me.....I can teach them something without opening my mouth......happy holidays

I go through my closet every month and pull stuff out that doesn't fit and that I don't wear and give it to away.

GREAT POST BONER! You know bro, if more of us wer willing to help each other out, this world would be a much better place. Me and the Mrs. donate clothes and old tv's and radio's, toasters, ect.... every Christmas. And I know the feeling you have. Once we donate them, we wish we could do more. Unlike most people in the U.S, we are VERY greatful for everything we have. And mostly we are greatful for our kids, and family around us. And also for great freinds like you all. Great post brutha.
