A introduction............
Hey everyone!Im 6'3" and I used to weigh 340 lbs.........yes I know.I joined a gym a few years back and started to workout on a regular basis for like 4 months.I dropped down to 285.Then I stopped going....now Im back at a smooth 300lbs.The first time I went I had no knowledge and I still lost 65 lbs. but this time I want to get down to 200 ish and not have as much BF as I do now.The problem is,the more I read to try to "gain" knowledge to try to formulate a better game plan the more confused I become on the best plan of action.I end up not going to the gym sometimes for fear of not doing something right when not going to the gym at all is TOTALLY COUNTER PRODUCTIVE!!So Im here to gain knowledge so I can apply it in the best way possible.I would post a picture of myself with my shirt off, but Im sure you would be pissed at me for making you hurl on your keyboard..................

First, don't think about your imperfections. Think about your accomplishments and motivation. I see there are quite a few things you need help with. Instead of getting overwhelmed in one place, post your training routine in the training section and your diet in the nutrition section. From there we all can work on it with our speacialties. This link is usually very helpful to beginners. http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html

Actually, this whole business can be encapsulated in 3 key items, all of which are important.
1. Consume the right number of calories The simple fact is that for fat loss, you should consume fewer calories than you burn. Calculate your BMI and the right number of calories you should consume to ensure this. 2. Eat the right kind of food Ditch the simple sugars, make sure you get enough protein, and ensure you get the right kinds of fat and not too much of it. Drink plenty of water. 3. Do both weight training and cardio for muscle building and fat loss Now, there are a lot of details under each of these items, but this board has a lot of information and lots of very knowledgeable experts. Read and you should be able to lose your confusion and put together a new lifestyle plan (note that I didn't say workout plan) that will help you achieve your goals.
