I'm not sure....I think the angle and the fact that I'm sitting down makes my waist look small.

thanks for the compliments!
I'm concerned it might be too much- which is a BS concern to have in a physique sport-but supposedly figure is not supposed to be too muscular. I think I can develop muscle ok and I hate to have to train less, eat less and burn it off.

Talk to Red Squirrel about it maybe. I do know that this year they have mandated less size for the female figure athletes but I think definition and muscularity is still good. I think the figure should still be a lot more muscular than the fitness, but obviously not huge like the female (maybe more male than female) bodybuilders that are winning todays big shows. Either way, you look damn good!

I think its funny- sometimes women comment that they like the way I look but say they don't want to put on any muscle.

I work with someone on my diet, sups and training. I understand that overall the judging for women was looking for 20% less. I just did my thing and this is what happened...

If I lose for being too much I think I'll have to go with: F it then because I don't want to be less than my potential. That's dumb...IMO

Its a wierd sport. Does Red Squirrel compete in figure?

That has been a question since deciding to compete. I think I could compete in BB but that is a serious commitment. I don't want to make the sacrifices and alter my body to that extreme. I wish there was something in between!! Or else let figure girls get ripped. Like this chic: www.flaviacrisos.com she will be competing in NPC this year and had to lose alot of that awesome muscle.

figure and bb are 2 very different aesthetics. you look like you put on muscle very easily - if you would prefer to keep training as is and eat as is, figure may not be your sport. not only do you need to look at what you like in aesthetic, you should consider what your body shape is best for. you may not be ideal for figure, but perfect for bb.

check out some more shows and see how the judging in your area is before you make the final decision.

The muscle loses its sexiness and attractiveness when the woman do so much test and other anabolics that they start to look like men. A muscular fitness competitor is what you should stay, IMO. Maybe someday they'll say the female bodybuilders should look like females and then you'll have the opportunity to compete as a bodybuilder.

I have been to some shows and looked at tons on the internet.

I like the look of figure competitors that are on the stackier side even though they don't always place as high because of it.

I admire female BB because I undertand what they have to do to get that look. I'd rather not look that extreme.

In these pictures: My back is looking a little crazy to me. That's why I threw it out there. I don't see it very much so these pics surprised me.

long one sorry!

I'm not one to give advice I only know this is what I do!

I train back twice a week: I love back day but I don't write anything down so my workouts aren't real structured.
I try to focus on width and thickness.

I warm up my rotators then I do 3-4 sets of pull-ups
I just do the regulars: 2-3 movements per workout (after pullups)
So I'll do some combo of (cable) pulldown, seated cable row, d-bell bent over rows, sometimes the machines, usually not. I used to do reverse d-bell fly (seated bent over or lying on the incined bench) but I jacked my infra spinae last summer and its still not the same so those got axed.....This winter, I stopped working my traps. I only did heavy d-bell shrugs when I did.

Some days I'll do sets of 8-10s but usually I like to do 4-6es and go heavier.

I just started using straps for bent over rows. That's been good for me. Big jump on the weight there!

I like to deadlift and I think that may have helped develop my back. I couldn't decide if I like sumo or conventional so I had been going back n forth trying to decide. Someone said I may have developed back from that, too.

I only recently tried to develop for physique. I used to just train for strength, power, speed...

My back and arms developed but I have doo doo legs. I look like the total Hanz n Franz!

your back looks awesome -- do you have any whole body shots ?? would get a better idea of how the rest of your body [ quads, hams, arms] is in proportion to your back -

again you look great -- imo you should not shy away from the idea of crossing over into bb
