Lettuce
What is the problem with iceburg lettuce? I read all the time, people say to have a leafy green salad, but not with iceburg lettuce.
What's up with that? |

My wife says it's because iceburg has very little nutritional value compared to other types of lettuce. I don't think iceburg is necessarily bad but there are better choices.

nutritional zero - it's a filler, one whose place can be just as easily taken by raw spinach leaves and other dark green leafy thingies that provide more goodies and fiber, and taste just as good. it's great though if you're on a low-calorie-density diet, it fills you up, which is why restaurants try to fill you up on it, to save money.
