I'm a student and don't have much time/flexibility for meals nor do I have a lot of money to spend on food. Is there cheap and/or easy bulking stuff that could be recommended? I know I shouldn't be hoping for a miracle nutrition, and I don't have the time to be a truly serious bodybuilder like most people here are anyway, but I'd like to get some results out of training nevertheless. Any advice would be welcome.

Expense of food
Check out this thread It's actually pretty cheap to eat clean. Find a bulk food store in your area and stock up on eggs, chicken and brocoli and that type of stuff. Do some research in the nutrtion section on dieting and that should help you get started. |

if youre pressed for time you should try cooking up large quantities of foods like rice , chicken, hard boiled eggs, sweet potatos etc a couple times a week and portion it out.

to be honest man im in your same shoes right now. Im not eating right now to bulk nor cut down, but i still maintain my size with what i eat right now.
Its hard because of cash, and the situation i am at right now. Im not buying the usual foods i used to buy. But eat tunas man. I was eating up to 4 cans a day. Cans usually go for about 45-50cents a can. So Id buy every 2 weeks a case of 48 cans total. The price I would pay was around 24 bucks for that. Thats not including my 5 dozen eggs a week, so thats 10 bucks. I would also eat whatever was here at home, usually my mother would cook some chicken breasts or some steaks, so that adds to it. Also try to buy your supplements online bro, u will save alot more than local stores like gnc, vitamin world, etc. But yeah I would spend around 30-40 bucks. I know it wasnt the best diets and stuff but i still managed to look good. I rather have that than nothing at all.

For protein you can buy eggs, ground beef, whey protein (check out www.allthewhey.com) top round steak, ground turkey, cottage cheese, and chicken breasts. For carbs your best bet is beans (I like black beans) and rice (brown rice) mixed together. Beans and rice are cheap, they're low G.I. carbs, they're high in fiber, and the combination of the two forms a complete protein. Oatmeal is cheap. Broccoli. For between meals snack on a mixture of peanuts and almonds (or cashews). Drink 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil (you can mix it with a protein shake or just gulp it down). Get some dextrose and/or maltodextrin for PWO.

Look for a grocery store that has a bulk food section. This is where things like rice, beans, etc. are in big bins that you can scoop out of. You'll can save a lot compared to buying boxed items off the shelves.
