Where to get in some weight training days?
I'm attempting to get back into some martial arts training I did years ago and with the amount of times I am going and plan to continue to go in the future my days for rest and weight training are very limited. I tried to get in a workout an hour or so before my training one day last week and felt like I damn near died on the mat.
I'm looking at BJJ training in the evenings 7-9pm Monday-Thursday then open mat training (sparring) for 2 hours on Sundays. That really only leaves Friday and Saturday as open days and I'm used to doing weights 4 days a week. Any suggestions on how to split things up and maybe work things into two days a week or just going before my BJJ training days and work light weights? I am seeing that things are going to get pushed too far at some point and need to try and find a balance that will allow quality training and not overdo it. |

Perhaps you could do a ONE day full upper body and SECOND day full lower body weigh training?
